Seems that either there is something organic in my A/C system or that there is an odor associated with the A/C coolant. After an inactive period this summer I had to have system recharged but had noted odor before that. Odor persists with recharged config. Any ideas?????

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Mould and mildew growth is fairly common in modern day "tightly woven" AC evaporators. Go to airsept.com and read up on their EED as a possible solution.
Many auto parts stores sell a mold spray that you can use to get rid of the smell.
turn your AC on full blast and spray LYSOL "linen" scent into your air vents... .give it a 5 second blast only and see how it smells after... don't exceed 5 seconds.... do it in increments... it worked for me and it was easy to do with a pleasant scent... linen I find is the least noticeable scent... IMO.
