I just wanted to check with you Porsche experts first before going ahead to order the Kumho's.

With that, I could replace all 4 tires with Kumho's and sell the front CSC2's on ebay or somewhere.

I need to replace the rear tires on my C4S and they're 295-30-18 Conti SC2
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I need to replace the rear tires on my C4S and they're 295-30-18 Conti SC2
The fronts are still pretty good, probably with 70% left.
I've been checking out the CSC2 on TireRack and another place,
it seems that this tire is out of stock, at least for the moment.
I also was reading up on the Kumho ECSTA SPT,
which costs half the price of the CSC2 and get as good reviews and ratings.
With that, I could replace all 4 tires with Kumho's and sell the front CSC2's on ebay or somewhere.
I just wanted to check with you Porsche experts first before going ahead to order the Kumho's.
Any of you used them before, any recommendations or otherwise?
Thanks!
I had these tires (in different sizes obviously) on my 2001 BMW 330Ci and found them an excellent value. After considering my driving style and the frequency of replacing stock Contis they made good sense. All-in-all I would reccommend them as a nice alternative for value-concious performance.
I have ASX's as well, and their performance to value is undeniable. Of course with any Kumho tire, you're going to encounter the legitimate argument that any 911 should only be equipped with the best performance tires, such as PS2's or PZero Rosso's.
I just put the SPTs on my Targa. Less that 1K miles on them. Overall I think they're fine BUT The rears seem to be settling a lot overnight. I have to get the car up to high speed for a while to get them to balance out. Ultimately I think part of it is the balancing done when they were installed so I'm going to ask the shop to recheck. Dry grip is fine and breakaway is progressive in feel with no squealing. Wet grip better than expected. Note - I have stock 17s.
Hope that's helpful. I ordered them from TireRack also.

if you aren't that worried about treadlife, I'd stick with top tier models. if you are worried about treadlife, I heard Bridgestone 750 is good. Never heard of SPT but I think MX is good if you aren't in wet weather. If you do get cheaper tires, don't push your car as hard and find out its limit first on a safe road.
Well, with several good feedback here, I had made up my mind to get the SPT's
also mainly coz' the CSC2's were not in stock.
But I found the Contis available on Treadepot.com! A set of the rears 295-30-18 costs $566 shipped.
So I went ahead and ordered them, the fronts are still pretty good. This way, all 4 should wear off at about the same time.
If any of you guys are in search of the CSC2's you might want to check them out soon before they run out again.
ummm, in many circle (especially autocross and tracks), Kumho street tires is the top tier (along with Yokohama Advan and Falken) !! not Michelin or Conti !! runningg Michelin/Conti, I wouldn't push the car so hard
