I think the most I ever paid for a run-till-sold ad, with several pics and extended text was $70.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I received a phone call today from someone from specialty used cars dot com today offering to help sell my '99 911. They got my phone number off from autotrader. Anyway, for a fee of $159.95 they tell me that they can sell my car in about two weeks. If anyone has used them I would be interested to know about your experiences with them. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

sounds like a scam. I don't see how they can promise to sell your car when they haven't seen your car's condition. what is your car is a piece of crap, and you are asking for $50k, how is it they can sell it?

POST 3Original post

Ditto on the scam...I work for *** enterprises which owns Autotrader.com and Automart.com. These vultures scan the ads and call unsuspecting consumers...many of whom are oblivious to the pitfalls of selling a car privately...run.

POST 4Original post

I got a similar call, and they wanted $400!!! Sounded too good to be true, handling shipping, cleaning, detailing all for the low, low price.... When they said they would take care of the money end, it was all over for me and I walked.

POST 5Original post

No. Never heard of them. I have sold multiple cars through Autotrader and AUTOTRADER.COM with good success. I think the most I ever paid for a run-till-sold ad, with several pics and extended text was $70. Most newspapers across the country have now integrated to CARS.COM as the other legitimate ad-based selling service.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all. I'll steer clear. I've got it running on autotrader and may add it to cars.com soon. Thanks.

POST 7Original post

I chose Cars.com over Autotrader because I was selling my Z06 and Autotrader was flooded with Z06 models that we selling them for a lot cheaper than I wanted to sell for. Cars.com have very few Z06's listed so I put my add there. I sold my Z06 on cars.com in 24 hrs. I was shocked on how easy and fast it was. I think the add only cost about $50. I did the add where you can post 3 pictures of the car. I've sold about a dozen cars privately. You definitely want to post pictures. You won't get any results without them.

POST 8Original post

I am looking to buy. Please describe the car that is for sale.
