The car has an in dash DVD player with Navigation, built in Radar detector, Weltmeister pedals, 18" sport wheels, clean carfax, excellent condition inside and out, garaged.

I am going to look at this 1999 C2 to replace/add with my 1991 C2. I am new to 996 models and would be interested in comments based on the following description and photo.
"1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe Excellent condition, clean, beautiful color combination (silver/beige), manual, 46,000 miles. The car has an in dash DVD player with Navigation, built in Radar detector, Weltmeister pedals, 18" sport wheels, clean carfax, excellent condition inside and out, garaged. Tires (Continental Sport Contact 2 225/40/ZR18 and 225/35/ZR18)and brakes have plenty of wear left. Exceptionally rich-looking beige leather interior, no rips or tears. The car drives and shifts beautifully"
Owner says no oil leaks and no maint issues, no accidents and no paint work.

Get a PPI from a knowledgeable 996 wrench. Even that won't guaranty that you won't have a RMS failure. I had mine 6 months after a clean PPI, but it should give you comfort and if there is something minor wrong, you can get it fixed by the seller or adjust the price.
Car looks nice but make sure PPI comes up clean... You can do a search on RMS, lots of info there. I have the same OEM wheels and rears should be 265/35/18 and not 225/35/18 as mentioned in the Ad, small mis-print no big deal. Based on pic, NAV is aftermarket, looks better than OEM with larger screen. I have the OEM one, system is OK not great. Another plus is that car comes with Aero-kit without rear wing. Check with coolant tank has been replaced with newer design, also the cap since it is the weak point on 996. My '00 C2 cab with only 28k miles had this tank leak which was the 1st prob encountered, then followed by the ignition switch. Great car though. Good luck with this car!
Mine was under warranty. I have seen prices quoted here from $800 - $1,200. It is a pretty big job.
There is a new version of the seal which seems to be working so that once you have to change it, perhaps it will last awhile.
