Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
75 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

don''t want to get it fixed though since it doesn't affect the car that much

I've got a '99 with 169,000 km's on it. (about 110k miles).
So far (aside from regular maintenance):
- Coolant tank replaced
- Clutch and flywheel
- I'm probably due for a new suspension
- Some minor electrical problems with the power windows

Do you mean to say that you're still on the original suspension? Yikes!
I've got just over 84,500 miles on my 2000 and I'm on my second H&R Coilover kit, second set of brake discs, fourth set of tires and original clutch.
2000 with 49k. this thread sheds a much more positive light on these cars. I've been thinking about trading up for an 02+ CPO, but not because I don't love the car
I have 94000 miles (150,000Km) on my 1999 C4 convertible.
Condition is still great throughout and drives like new, although i think a new clutch will be needed soon. Not sure if this is the original or 2nd clutch in place at the moment as i am the 3rd owner.
'02 C2 with 67,000km. No issues, although it's a recent purchase. Looked at a '99 with 142,000km during shopping process but it had a new engine - suffered the "massive white smoke" meltdown at 138,000km.
'02 C2 silver/black, driven daily - rain, snow or shine
2000 C4 with 85,000 miles.....not only no major items, no minor ones either. I do my own oil, filters, belts & plugs.....car hasn't seen the dealer since it touched 30,000 miles....prolly never gonna go back.....most reliable car I have ever owned.
'99 C2 with 69k. Bought with 52k 2-1/2 yrs ago. Had 60k service done at that time. Alternator quit two months after I bought it, but other than that, just typical stuff (tires, oil, etc.)
OK, is it just me or do most of these higher mileage cars have (or just seem to have) fewer / less serious problems and higher reliability?
I know my 03 C4S, 28k miles, was extremely reliable.
My '99 996, just bought last week 43,000 miles, with 12,000 on new engine, it had RMS a few months after new engine, and not leaking now. It needs brakes now.
My '03 Boxster almost 15,000 miles and never a mechanical problem other than belt tensioner.
As requested, here's a pic!
(I think I said in my previous post that I was at 169,000 km's. Turns out, I had misread and I must have only had 161,900 km's. As soon as spring hits and it comes out of winter-storage, I'll fix that shortly.

99 C2 coupe, currently at 58,400 miles.
I bought with 34,000 miles. My daily driver for a little over 2 years.
Replacements: hood latch, coolant tank, MAF, airbag light (multiple times), intermediate shaft seal at 54,000 miles and replaced clutch/pp at the same time for convenience, also tightened left valve cover/cylinder head bolts as it was leaking slightly from this side.
Well into my second set of rear tires. Tire wear is one of the most annoying (to me) and under-mentioned things about the car for a daily driver. Especially considering that replacing the rear tires is more expensive than an RMS fix.
No track days for me.
2000 with 97k still running strong as hell no problems outside of a stupid emissons leak.... its starting to **** me off since my purge valve keeps going on and off. don''t want to get it fixed though since it doesn't affect the car that much
