Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I picked up my first p-car less than a month ago. I honestly knew next to nothing more about porsches than the average admirer. The one thing I did know is that I had to have one, actually hopefully more than one. Since joining the site, I have learned a lot. I have also RTFM. What are some additional sources of info i.e. books, videos, show etc. that might be helpful to get me up to speed and help me to understand some of the more complex things that are discussed in these forums. I am also interested in previously unpublished personal #1 thing to know from interested folks out there in p-car land. thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

Excellence was expected by Karl Ludvigsen??! is an awesome wealth of Porsche info. (3 Volume set.)

POST 3Original post

"Excellence Was Expected" is great if you desire the complete Porsche history from day 1. "Porsche 911 Story" by Paul Frere is more model specific and updates regularly. "Porsche High Performance Driving Handbook" by Vic Elford has a lot of good info on handling characteristics, etc. "Excellence" magazine is good also - more info on new cars, but some stuff on older ones too.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the help. Looks like I'll have some good books to keep next to the comode

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just bought Porsche 911 Perfect by Design by Randy Leffingwell. Great pics!

POST 7Original post
