I ran the 17s on my car one track day, although the tires are somewhat narrow.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Or is demand just slower on 2nd set of wheels for 996 owners? https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1168028 Thanks!

POST 3Original post

A huge pet peeve of mine is people who can't spell Boxster.

POST 4Original post

Definitely a good deal! I'd buy them in a heartbeat...if they were the right size and offsets

POST 5Original post

Quotes source post: 16232716

Yep, if you look at all my posts over the years I've corrected the Boxter spellers quite a bit...

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 16232716

thanks! Last time I will mis-spell that one!

POST 7Original post

I got sold similar with good all seasons (read: crappy for summer but OK in spring and fall cooler temps) for $750 cash and carry this past summer. I thought the price was fair.

I have an identical set with the same offset. They were apparently the base set of wheels that came on my March 1998 build C2. Not a big surprise to me that they are the same wheels used on the 993, since the 993 was still in production when my 996 was built.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im pretty sure previous owner just put these on as they arent standard wheels. Spacers are required to use them. They do look similar though to the spec wheels. A few experts in the 993 forum think they were standard 996 wheels.

POST 10Original post

My wheels didn't come with spacers. No clearance issues with my calipers. I did note that one edge of my calipers had the paint scraped off and it is possible they were either scuffed or slightly modified many years ago since the wheels only clear that edge by a few millimeters. The wheels do not have any evidence of contact with the calipers. I ran the 17s on my car one track day, although the tires are somewhat narrow. 205 on the front and 255 on the rear, as I recall. I now have a set of the Sport Design and 996.2 GT3 wheels, although I need to roll my rear fender lips to fit the GT3 wheels and tires.

POST 11Original post

I think the problem is the sizing. I know I would be a lot more interested if I could find a winter tire on tirerack for it.

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 16237397

Pirelli Sottozero. I'm pretty sure there are sizes that will fit those wheels.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry - to clarify, spacers are only required for my 993 with these wheels. These are standard 996 wheels and no spacers required.
