I have been using Napa Gold for a long time with no problems, few days ago I changed my oil and realized I didnt have any Napa Gold Oil filters left so I used a K&N filter that I had purchased some time ago.

I just used a WIX filter for the first time this morning on a 2019 Tiguan.

Suggestion
WIX should be fine for you, just do your oil changes on time, inspect, and send in oil sample.

Suggestion
I didn’t want to try the second K&N filter I had and I needed to complete the oil change so I went to my local Walmart and bought a Mobil 1-107A.

I did a search with no concrete results other than people seem fine with the Wix oil filter? I can source this and the K&N at my local parts store and save some significant Porsche tax instead of purchasing the filter from the dealer. Any issues with the Wix? Also, can someone advise the correct millimeter for the oil filter wrench? Doing my first oil change next week.

If you still have the oil filter cartridge, use a Mahle filter
I have been using Napa Gold for a long time with no problems, few days ago I changed my oil and realized I didnt have any Napa Gold Oil filters left so I used a K&N filter that I had purchased some time ago. When I screwed it on to barley hand tight the threads stripped right out. At first I thought I may have damaged the threads on my oil filter adapter but it was OK. I compared the K&N filter with the Napa Gold I had taken off and noted that there were less threads in the K&N filter than in the Napa Gold. This was a Sunday afternoon and my local Napa store is closed on Sundays. I didn’t want to try the second K&N filter I had and I needed to complete the oil change so I went to my local Walmart and bought a Mobil 1-107A. Read some positive reviews about the Mobil 1-107A and looking at it seemed to be quality part, installed it without any problems and completed my oil change.
I have seen some other not so positive reports on the K&N oil filter just putting in my two cents on the K&N oil filter.
I just used a WIX filter for the first time this morning on a 2019 Tiguan. The center of the filter is a little different from the VW oes filter, but snapped in nicely. For my 996 I usually use Mahle. WIX should be fine for you, just do your oil changes on time, inspect, and send in oil sample.
Wix filters are good, I like most of the Porsche OEM brands but for a US branded filter , I personally think they're are of the top tier.
I have No knowledge of K&N's but do your research.....
