Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

if you look at the dates for the carfax report, you can easily see that several of the ownership changes occurred within days of each other.

Who knows what you're buying into with such a well travelled car - not to mention that in changing states on 4 occasions, who knows what got washed off the title....

I'm not sure how breaking Carfax's rules and having someone else run it for you is any different than shoplifting or using pirated software.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I can get you a copy, just give me a few days because I'm in the middle of hacking my cable TV so I can get all the channels.
BTW, 7 owner car is funny as hell.
Screw carfax, rip them off as the are ripping others off with their misinformed data. If I had a carfax account at the moment, I would have ran it also and posted it too.
LOL..stop being so serious, if you can help someone out and make their day, why not? As far as those places like carfax, who cares...you think they care about you??
Wow! You can tell alot about who on this thread actually earned their money and who got their's from mommy and daddy and get most everything given to them rather than having to earn it.
low blow 1999'..if you know me(I know you dont care too), those words would never come out of your mouth towards me.
Here comes the non-membership scolding.....
This is a car that has not been well liked by it's owners... nothing sadder than an orphan Porsche. I thought they were a myth, but here is one in the flesh. Sad, lonely, rejected - wandering from state to state looking for a loving owner and in some cases rejected iin less than three days. How sad can you get.
BTW, I agree about the carfax. $20 on an expensive car to save you lots of money is nothing. It pays for itself even if you only look at one car.

So true, but you should see some of the Honda and Acura boards!
Now, who can help me distract the local Pcar dealer so I can steal a set of GT3 seats while his back is turned? I mean, it's not like Porsche care about us, so it's OK, right?
if you look at the dates for the carfax report, you can easily see that several of the ownership changes occurred within days of each other. To me, this means that their were either dealer trades or auctions and that the buyer registered the title. How else would you explain owners 3 & 4 only owning the car for about 2 weeks????
As for the service itself, befriend someone who works for a car dealership and you can get the info at any time. And as for posting it here, what is the big deal? The poster obviously has an account with carfax and is simply getting value from the service. My preference would have been to simply PM or email the info, but it truly is no big deal. Carfax did not lose any money here.

My comments were tongue in cheek. It is obvious that there were a couple of dealer trades in there. The more worrying thing is that after the first owner, the subsequent owners of this car kept it from between 4 and 11 months. That's really not a good sign. The real question is why they did that.
I personally wouldn't touch a car that has had so many owners for one single reason - no one owner owned the car long enough to do a decent amount of maintenance on it. They drove it, found something they didn't like about it (or liked better) and quickly traded it. It may be me, but that's just not natural for a car like this. Who knows what you're buying into with such a well travelled car - not to mention that in changing states on 4 occasions, who knows what got washed off the title.... just things to think about.
..carfax is a joke!!!...you can crash your car...rebuild it at a local shop and carfax will never find out!! It is like living in a gated community (without guards walking around) a false sense of security!
Hey Patrick!
I care about all of you..! Without all of the folks who post, or support, or share their knowledge - or just give encourgement (and sometimes an argument back) - Rennlist would be a really lonely place... Do I care about this worldwide community?
You bet...
If I didn't, we wouldn't be here, either.....
Hmmm - do I care enough to adopt all of you and have you live in my "platial estate" (LOL!!!) in NH? Not quite that much - as I'd quickly grow weary of the "in house" bickering... Besides, the cost of renovation and expansion would kill Jen & me..
BTW - I also learned something else in this thread..! Folks are probably right - if they fix their car on their own, it won't get reported to CarFax..!!
Best to all..!
John D.
Asking for someone else to run a CarFax for you is against CarFax rules and violates Rennlist policy.
No, I don't personally care if CarFax losses out on a $20 fee as this is Rennlist, not Carfax. On the other hand, CarFax have much deeper pockets to fight a legal battle with RL if we promote or even permit the sharing of CarFax info here.
Nobody here wants RL to close after losing a legal battle with them,
do you
?
Marc
Here is my unsolicited view on this. If a service or a product is worth using, you should pay for it. If it's not, don't use it. I'm not sure how breaking Carfax's rules and having someone else run it for you is any different than shoplifting or using pirated software. If you think those things are ok then we have nothing to discuss.
BTW, I feel the same about Rennlist. If it's valuable to you, buy a membership. If it's not, don't use the service. If you don't think John and Jen care about us, you have no idea what it takes to keep a site like this up.
I just don't get how some people think.
