Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I replaced the OEM unit with a Kenwood NAV/DVD/SIRIUS unit and have had no problems with the alarm or any other electric systems.
Leading evidence: 'Replace oem unit' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'alarm going off' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace oem unit' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Well I could not find the post I wanted but did come upon the fix or at least what the problem was for the alarm going off.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

"unit locates destinations in 37 European at lightening speed. " Based on that I would have to say no. Have you tried calling Becker NA?
I'd hate to see the price on that thing. Much cheaper options I'm sure.
[QUOTE=LVDell]" Have you tried calling Becker NA?
No have not call Becker yet. I might try calling today.
I did find one unit that I think will work the best for me. I really want the Bluetooth built-in
It's the DEH-P980BT from Pioneer
I remember reading a thread about removing the stock unit and having it mess up the alarm system, but no one posted on how to solve the problem.
Has anyone had that problem and fixed it?
Several guys have done total replacements of their headunits and speakers, etc., and I haven't heard a thing about the alarm going bad.
Do a search on this board (996 forum) with keywords stereo or like search terms. There are some really impressive installs. Not my cup of tea (I prefer to listen to PSE all the time
) but still nonetheless, impressive.

Changed stereo - alarm problem
New Radio / alarm + Central Locking, A question
I totally agree with that!!!
I almost never listen to the radio I only want to add Bluetooth in a seamless manner
Aaron,
The Becker Grand Prix fit will fit just fine in a one Din slot like any other aftermarket.
The 7995 does not have Navigation at all. In fact their current models which do support Nav only support European maps. Very unfortunate for us in the USA.
Becker seems to have abandoned us here in the USA for nav. The factory TrafficPros were Models 4773 and 4763. One says Porsche the other says Harman/Kardon.
Hope this helps.
I thought on the '02 and up can not use an aftermarket Head unit because the rest of the system is the optical type... or did you replace everything, amps, speakers, etc...?
