Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Our region (Lone Star) DE Handbook states that "any make of car delivered with factory-installed roll over protection meets the minimum standards for PCA DE events."

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So it looks like hardtop installed and pop-ups is not sufficient for DE at VIR. So no I am researching installing a rollbar in the 996CAB for DE events.
I am looking for input from those of you that have installed one. I currently have a new BK Harness mount that is awesome but now a waste so I wnat something that will work as good as it has regarding my harness installs and camera mount.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Dell,
Is the DE a PCA event? The 996 Tech Advise column on the PCA website says that PCA nat'l standards require only a "factory installed rollover protection" ... which standard is met by the 996 roll bars, even when stored in normal position.

Thanks everybody! Especially the first hand confirmation from AC996C2 and the track supercede rules. I figured that would be the case.
Off to order the Teq bar.
Cheers,
I know a guy with a 996TTcab. Runs the rollbar that the Porsche dealers sell.. is that Techart? Sorry for blanking out on the name. Nice bolt in piece. Easy in-out. No drilling if i recall correctly.
Dell - VIR won't let you run with PSE at the track. Since you "dumpstered" your stock cans in LV, just send me your PSE and I'll send you my stock cans, even up! hee hee!
BTW, just kidding about VIR and PSE, but it was worth a shot!
I believe roll bars are legal only because I know a couple of people with covertible stangs and Miata's the leave theirs in during the week(their daily driver).
VIR requires the rollbar in a CAB. The pop-ups and hardtop installed are not suffiicient. Besides, the wife tracks as much as I do and is just as addicted. She got tired of sharing the car at track days a fews months back and thus the reason for adding a GT3.
