V1 is a good choice, but there is something about the K1 Calibre(prcier) and Bel installed units that are very appealing.

I am a newbie - just got a 996, and I looooove 'er. Yesterday I was going...well, very fast...and realized that I should invest in a great system. I want a RD and laser jammer, and would like to be concealed. I am between a V1 and building a box and wrapping it in black carpet, then mounting it on the rear dash or rear head liner. This combo should provide great protection, but I would have seperate display units that I would need to mount. My other consideration is an Escort Passport SR7 or SRX using the ZR3 Shifter for laser. This unit would be completely concealed. But because it is mounted low, am I giving up radar protection? And I have heard that the Passport does not detect POP, and that the Shifter does not jam Atlanta Laser Stealth mode. Does the Passport detect radar from behind? Anyway, should I be concerned about these issues? Thanks! BTW, this site is awesome!

I have the SRX in my C4S. It has definately saved me a few times. You should check out radarbusters.com they have very comprehensive tests of most radars available.

I posted a similar thread approx one month ago, received excellent info. Have not been able to figure out how to move a thread link, but if you do a search under radar detectors, lots of info! V1 is a good choice, but there is something about the K1 Calibre(prcier) and Bel installed units that are very appealing. Not into full drive mode in NY so I haven't made the jump...yet!

Don't have one, but I have seen the V1 readouts installed in the rear view mirror. Saw one for sale on ebay the other day but I don't know what the source of the setup is.
