I totalled my 01 C2 996 six months ago and after looking at the market (both new and used, BMW, Audio, etc...) I've decided that an 01-02 996 Turbo seems like the right car for me and my money.

I'm working with the local dealer who tells me that they see several cars comming available in the next month (using some Porshe internal inventory system) so I'm sitting patiently for the phone to ring.

I totalled my 01 C2 996 six months ago and after looking at the market (both new and used, BMW, Audio, etc...) I've decided that an 01-02 996 Turbo seems like the right car for me and my money. So after sitting around and doing nothing about it (driving my 95 Ford Trunk ... faster at times then a 95 Ford Trunk should be driven) for almost six months I now find myself somewhat itching to drive a Porsche again. (And it surely did not help test driving one the other day). My dilema is that there are now no Turbos in my local market that meet my desires. (I live in the Seattle area). Specifically, I'm looking for a Silver 996 Turbo (black or grey interior), Certified, low milage and in excellent condition. I'm working with the local dealer who tells me that they see several cars comming available in the next month (using some Porshe internal inventory system) so I'm sitting patiently for the phone to ring. I'm an A-type and not terribly good at waiting for phones to ring especially when I see 911's nearly every day going to and from work/gym/kids school. Can anyone offer any advice on other possible avenues I might pursue? Any other advice on buying a used 996 Turbo would also be appreciated. With all my desire to get in a Turbo, the spend thrift in me wonders if I should perhaps chill out and wait till trade-ins start showing up in July when the 997's start arriving picking up a good 996 at perhaps a temporarily reduced price due to increased inventories of 996 Turbos. Any thoughts on this? My current justification for not waiting is that the dip in prices might perhaps be worth 5k ... and that is just not enough to wait 4 more months. If folks thought that prices could depress as much as perhaps 10k ... maybe I would have to rethink things. Thanks, Bart
