Suggestion · Original poster

It would appear the source of the rattle is the top (slatted) part o the spoiler rattling against the bracing beneath it, making the problem not a fault with the vehicle to be repaired but with the design.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Before I go down the rabbit hole on this, is it normal on these cars for the spoiler to rattle when you shut your door?

POST 2Original post

No. Is it closing all the way? What happens when you use the manual switch to open and close it? Thinking it might be sticking. Lube the crap out of the lift rams with silicone spray.

It closes all the way and it functions perfectly fine opening and closing, it just sounds cheap when I shut my door.

Lol. Mine rattles when closing the engine lid.. I thought it was normal too.

POST 5Original post

I think he is talking about his door. Mine does rattle a bit when I close the engine lid, and it has always done that.

POST 6Original post

What door (drivers or deck lid) and what spoiler?

POST 7Original post

My spoiler was rattling too. I adjusted the bump stops today and it rattles no more.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 16176541

Driver's door (or passenger) and the standard Carrera spoiler.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It would appear the source of the rattle is the top (slatted) part o the spoiler rattling against the bracing beneath it, making the problem not a fault with the vehicle to be repaired but with the design. I'll have to see if there is some kind of outdoor rated velco that I can lay between the two parts that rattle when they touch.
