Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I would like to have your opinion to solve this problem. I knew it when I bought the car but I thought there would be an easier way around it... I would like to remove the passenger side seat switch and replace it with a new one. The foward/backward button is broken and seat is at the maximum backward position, on top of the bolts that I have to remove. Ive been able to remove the 2 small screws that bolt the seat switch cover in place but I cant really take it off because of the clips that are holding in place. I guess if the seat was removed it would be easier.. So now I feel like I cant take off the switch because I cant take off the seat and I cant take off the seat because I cant take off the switch. Is there a way to move the seat without the switch? Should I break the switch tabs ,try to disconnect the cable, reconnect new unit and move the seat? Any good idea other then drilling the seat bolts? Here's how it look Thanks Hugo

POST 2Original post

Look under the front of the seat. You will see two white fasteners. Pull the white loops back and then pull the center post down to release the fasteners from the seat frame rail. This will allow you to lift the bottom seat cushion from the seat frame and not only allow you to remove the seat switch but gives you access to the entire underneath of the seat (motors, wire harness, etc.) Be careful to not raise the seat cushion too high as there are wires attached to the bottom of the seat cushion.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Alright thanks! The clips were not that easy to undo with the seat installed... The switche is out and Im waiting for a replacement. Thanks again!
