Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I checked all around the car for leaks and found none.

When I first bought the 02 996, I was checking the coolant and took the cap off.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When I first bought the 02 996, I was checking the coolant and took the cap off. Well after driving 20 mins I realized the cap was not fully tightened. Lost a little fluid. No big deal. I filled to above min and have drove over 1k since. My level seems to always end up at the min line or a smidge below. I put fluid in and end up back at the same spot. Well I drove about 200 miles yesterday and the fluid was still at the min line this morning. My Boxster use to spit the coolant out the side when I overfilled (When I did water pump). Is the same thing happening now. I thought when the car was cold it should be between the low and high marker. I checked all around the car for leaks and found none. I checked the oil cap, clean as always. Not blowing any smoke. Where should the level be when cold?
Car drove beautifully yesterday. Line of about 50 Porsche's was pretty cool.
The coolant tank should read Min when cold and Max when warm (operating temp) its possible you introduced an air bubble into the system when you left the cap off/loose. Pull up the bale on the burp valve and drive it from cold to hot. Let it cool down and then refill and close the burp valve. You may have to do this routine a few times but eventually you should get any air out. Good luck
Okay thanks.
When I do the water pump will the same system of de burping work? I remember going through this long process with the 00 Box but I never drove. It was get up to operating temperature and go up and hold at a certain rev for a while. It took a while but worked. Never had any issues the three years 5k after. Your way seems much easier.
