Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just bought a 2002 C2 with 3500 miles on it. It has everything I was looking for, sunroof, partial aero kit, PSM, CD changer, everything except heated seats. Does anyone know if the car would be pre-wired and maybe for the cost of seats and switches could I add heated seats? Yep, I know, probably not worth the cost but I am just curious. The only other thing I am not sure of is if it has the Technic package. How can I tell? Is there a specific option code? What was included in the Technics Package? For that matter, is there a site that lists all the option codes? And does anyone know what Porsche calls this Blue? P.S. I am upgrading from a 1995 968. Can't wait to pick up the car on Monday. Thanks, Jeff

POST 2Original post

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...option+decoder that should get you started...... congrats on the nice looking ride.

POST 3Original post

Yeesh - 3500 miles, that car's barely been broken in! I hope that car is CPOd, urban legend here has it cars with very very low mileage tend to be the group at highest risk for catastrophic failure! Regardless, that's gorgeous, although looks a little strange with partial aero kit, I never thought I'd say this but I think it needs the wing! Love the colour, I think that's lapis blue? Maybe midnight blue?

POST 4Original post

Jerler - Congrats on getting the P-car and Welcome to the Forum! Nice looking car! The color is either Lapis Blue or Midnight Blue Metallic. Check the sticker on the under side of the trunk hood. It will have a list of factory option codes that were installed on your car. It should also have the paint color-code. Once you have those, you can you can enter them into the Option Decoder here on the Rennlist Forum. To access that, go to the left side of your screen and click on General , then click on Opt. Decoder . Enter each of your codes to find out what exactly what option each code represents.

POST 5Original post

I added heated seats with factory switches, cushions, etc. Cost for parts was under $700.00. It took about 8 hrs of labor on my part and $50.00 at an upholstery shop. Check out this web site http://www.dennisvogel.com/heatedseats/index.html It is a great set of instructions for a boxster seat install. I used it and modified it slightly for a 996 cab. Actually, for a coupe you could do it like a boxster, i.e. put the seat switches on the console between the seats behind the ashtray. For a cab, these slots are used for the rear windows. Standard on 996 was the lower dash console. I can provide you with an updated parts list for a 996. It really wasn't that hard a DIY if you are handy and the heated seats are great. I know a dealer that quoted over $1,500 labor if they do the install. Also, there are others who have used an aftermarket kit which can save a few hundred dollars. Let me know if I can be of help.

POST 6Original post

Great looking car Jeff. Love the (partial) aero kit. Congrats.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dharn55 - Thanks for the info. Sounds like a project before next winter...

POST 8Original post

Hi Jeff, Could you please list your option codes. I also have the partial aero kit (I think), and I have the following unidentified option codes: - 226 - 376 I was wondering whether either of these are the aero kit.

POST 10Original post

You could always slide a set of these in. Heated and Air conditioned (Fans, Vents) Recaros. http://www.recaro-seats.com/Sport_KleS_DinS.jpg

What kind of wheels are on your car? Are those the GT3 wheels?

POST 12Original post

POST 14Original post

Jerler, Welcome to the forum, nice find on a beautiful car. Hardly even driven!! wow. Another thought on the heated seats would be to swap up to a set of sport seats with heaters already in them.

POST 15Original post

You guys DO realize that this thread was started in MARCH of this year, right?

POST 17Original post

Yeah, the bump is my fault. I was doing a search for my elusive 226 option code, and came across this post. By posting a question, I bumped (and thereby revitalized) an old thread
