Figure I will be repainting that area at some point, and in the meantime, I may just use some rattle can black to touch it up.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have any of y'll noticed fading of the plastic vents to the radiators? Mine (2000 model, kept under cover, but not in a garage) has turned almost white at the very front. I am talking about down on the nose, but above the front lip. Its just the vents (air intakes), not the front bumper. Figure I will be repainting that area at some point, and in the meantime, I may just use some rattle can black to touch it up. Am I alone with this issue or is it relatively common? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Black plastic in general fades (or does it oxidize?). There is a thread somewhere on here where a member replaced the crowl at the base of the windshield. The difference in "blackness" was amazing. It happens on all cars that utilize unpainted black plastic.

POST 3Original post

It's because your car is kept outside. The same will happen to the plastic parts on the H2 Hummer...............
