Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check oil filler cap and re-seat' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check hoses, gas cap, oil cap' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Check your hoses, gas cap, oil cap for good seals.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Symptoms. 99 C2. Stock.
Every two weeks(car is daily driven) the CEL will come on. I reset and it stays off for 10-14 days.
There is no rough idle. Starts easy. No similar behaviors when it comes on. Once came on first thing in the morning. Another after running 4 quick errands.
Vacuum leak only on that side?
I did, as I said search, and found lots of info when 1124 and 1126 come up together. (AOS, dirty MAF, etc) all things that effect both banks of cylinders.
The only potential fault I found was a vacuum leak, I wanted to see if there were any other potential causes so I can chase them down.
Thanks again for any advice.
What Barn is saying oh so true!
Look at this from Renntech.

I would start there. Check your hoses, gas cap, oil cap for good seals. Somewhere you have a leak.
Good Luck!
FYI, The fact that only P1124 has been stored in memory doesn't mean that P1126 isn't right around the corner. Sometimes the value on the other bank just hasn't reached the limit yet, but is heading there. Being able to look at actual fuel trim values is very helpful with those faults. First thing I would check is the oil cap. If you added oil recently, you may have not gotten it back on quite straight, causing a vacuum leak. Could also be airmass sensor. I've also seen leaves fall in front of the screen inside the air filter housing blocking air flow and causing this. Other common possibilities are AOS or the bellows connecting it to the case, and the oil fill tube having a crack in it. Good luck! Hope it's something cheap and easy!
timely thread - my 99 C2 just pulled those same codes 1124 and 1126.
I just changed the air filter - found out it had a K&N and I went back to a stock paper filter - I am not a big fan of K&N for EFI cars with MAF's in the air tract.
Also replaced the oil at the same time.
I had the intake hose to the TB off, so maybe that didn't seat properly - I removed and reinstalled it.
Also checked the oil filler cap and re-seat that. Seemed possible I didn't have that tight. The o-ring looked OK, but I gave it a quick lube just to make soften it up a bit.
So I will see if the codes come back. Cleared them. Will drive the car tomorrow.
Porscehs2944 is right, you need to see the fuel trims to see if the problem exists on both banks. You can use a generic OBDII scanner or Durametric. If you don't have that info, you will need to look for common air leak areas such as the oil filler tube (broken at the cordian area), any place after the MAF. There could also be internal leak such as the purge valve (right above the alternator). Ideally you want a smoke machine to track down any intake leaks. Any recent work done in the engine compartment?
I am experiecing the same condition on my 99 C2. Only getting P1124, and long fuel trims are all over the place on bank 1. Ranging between -6% to +6% on bank 1. Bank 2 is 0-3%. Driven the car for 100+ miles on never got P1126. AOS is new as well, only 1000 miles on the AOS.
Thinking of a intake/vacuum leak. Going to get a smoke test done and purchase oil cap. The car is running fine and has no idle issues.
