Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

...a buddy came in late at our club run, he caught up but flew in his Robinson helicopter. I think he still missed the fun.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

oops sorry for the crappy quality. Mike, I'm emailing you shots taken from club run this morning. Kindly post for better quality.

POST 4Original post

Hhahahahahhahahaahhahahhahahaha, you have to be kidding. The quality was fine, it's the size... make it BIGGER!

POST 5Original post

Yup, needs a bigger pic. I e-mailed you my e-mail addy you can send a hi-res pic to, and I'll post it.

POST 6Original post

Was that at the Tagaytay Highlands resort? That place is amazing -- it was like I was back in the Alps with all those chalets!

POST 7Original post

Good stuff! Robinson makes a 2 seat version of that helicopter designated R22 (That is an R44 in the pic). A good slightly used R22 is around 140k and you can finance for 20 years!!! I am getting close to my commercial helo checkride and I can tell you, your friend is not missing anything but speeding tickets! I may wind up selling my C4S, leasing a cayenne and buying a "robbie". Helos a way more fun than planes! Remember, you point an airplane, you FLY a helicopter. There are only around 26k helo pilots in the country=try it out if you can. Schools can be found on Verticalreference.com

POST 8Original post

Helos have too many moving parts trying to escape from their fixed positions. Yes you point airplanes. Like my Van's RV4 which I point straight up, straight down and all around. It's called aerobatics, and you can go in a straight line at 185 mph plus. Don't think you will be doing much of that in a Robbie??? But then again, I can't land on a dime either. Tom L 2002 C2

POST 9Original post

RV4 is a very cool machine!! I have seen the kit in it's early stages and I was impressed by the quality of materials. My friend owns a Marchetti with inverted fuel and oil systems=you can fly inverted all day long. I would have a tough time explaining to people the words "EXPERIMENTAL" displayed in bold print as they were considering going for a ride. I do not have a problem with it personally if I knew the builder. aerobatics are very technical and given the envelope of your plane I am sure you are an accomlished driver as well. The real fun in the helo is the slow speed and incredible view, not to mention landing in my friend's yards.

POST 10Original post

A Doctor friend of mine just got done putting together a Rotorway experimental helo. I am waiting for him to run off his check out hours so he can give me a demo. I really do like helos as well as fix wings.....just can't really justify the money involved in a helo. I am currently building one of the most worthless flying aircraft on this planet. It's a Pietenpol Aircamper. It is kind of like driving a Model T Ford, with wings. A 1929 design with a parasol wing and two open cockpits. It has all wood construction with fabric covering and the original ones ran a Model A Ford engine. Many of them still run A engines although most people now run some type of 4 cylinder air cooled aircraft engine instead. Even though they fly terrible, they are alot of fun on a warm day if your not in a hurry. Cruise speed is around 75-80 mph on a good day. Tom L 2002 C2

POST 11Original post

Tom, the rotorway is pretty neat but pilot nor passengers can weigh over 170+- pounds. I think I found our solution for Camping.........check this out, it looks pretty cool! http://www.boston.com/yourlife/artic...an_fly_my_car/

POST 12Original post

Tom Please do post a pic of this work in progress, I for one would love to see it! Thanks.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was wondering who else here flies a chopper besides their porsche. My company used to own an Agusta 109, but I never got the chance to learn how to fly. I'll try to post some pix
