Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I'm more for PSS9s than the ROWs as I like to be able to play and adjust dampening and ride height settings.

I was told that I should introduce myself before I start using the board.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
I was told that I should introduce myself before I start using the board. Well, here we go:
Hi my name is Norbert and I'm a "Porsche-oholic". I'm living it one day at a time trying to deal with my disease.
No, seriously. I've been into Porsches for some time and just purchased a used 1999 996 C2. It's Silver/Black with 49,000 miles. I bought it from my local Porshce dealer and it's a CPO car, thus a warranty. So far I've had the Mass Air Flow sensor and a vacumm leak that has caused a check engine light. The car is great otherwise.
Future upgrades will be in order as follows:
1) Alpine headunit with iPod control interface
2) PSE or Fabspeed exhuast
3) Suspension (either PSS9 or RoW M030)
4) Kinesis K28 rims
5) Not sure if I want an SSK or not yet.
6 +) Amp and speaker upgrade, 3 spoke wheel, Sport seats, etc.
I've attached some pics, let me know what you think.
Thanks
Norbert

In keeping with your introduction, "Hi, Norbert, and welcome!" Nice P-car! Suggest you add clear side markers to your mod list, only $30. Enjoy your new ride!
nice lookin car bud! (reminds me of my silver bullit when she was still a mod virgin, it seems we both have excellent taste).
start racking up some miles man!
Cool ride Norbert. Blast.. a customer just sold a used set of K18r's from his C2
If you need/want to feel what an SSK is like let us know... We've always got cars that have them here vs stock. I'm more for PSS9s than the ROWs as I like to be able to play and adjust dampening and ride height settings. Also on the exhaust, the PSE does sound really good but so does the Fabspeed. I have the later here also to listen to. It doesn't drone either
Welcome and nice ride. I must say entering this site for a Porsheholic is like a crack addict moving next door to a crack house. At least you took the first step and realize your affliction. Oh ya, "My name is Jim and I too am a Porscheholic".
welcome norbert. nice ride, it's just like mine... well... mine started off like yours and now has, ahem, a few modifications
my suggestions:
1) i have a pioneer deck with ipod control and it sux. the pioneer deck i quality but you are better off with the alpine for ipod control.
2) fabspeed for lighter weight and better sound than oem or PSE for THE best sound, IMHO
3) PSS9s for the adjustability in ride and ride height. row030 doesn't get the car low enough.
4) nice rims -> k28s
5) the ssk has a nice, shortened, precise throw but it does get notchy. be sure to try one out first.
6) i, too, had the 4 spoke wheel and i hated it. i got an atiwe 3 spoke wheel. they make the steering wheels for Ruf. mine looks exactly the same w/o the badge bud at about 50% less.
Welcome to the silver 996 club!
You've got great taste and done your homework!
May I suggest the obvious...clear tail lights as well as side markers and silver badge. So much cleaner without all that amber/gold on silver cars.
Thanks for all the kind words and hospitality.
I went down to the local car hifi shop today in the South SF Bay area. They do all the cars for Monster Cable. They had a 959 (real!) and a 986s (550 special edition) that they were working!
I've decided to add an Alpine headunit with the iPod functionality for now. I may add a amp and dynaudio speakers in the future, but we'll see.
Thanks again for the warm welcome.
Norbert
Karlooz you are such an instigator! Your CF hood is awating. Sadly everytime someone comes in they want to pick it up to see how light it is so you have some paw prints
