Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

For Porsche they dont wanna replace an engine twice so in their mind they are giving you a BETTER engine for one replaced under warranty.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

AWESOME! BTW, don't let Bob read this! If he does, he will look like this ==>

POST 5Original post

Awesome!!! Keep drving that puppy. Great to hear stories like this to show how long these engines can go if treated right.......and I am sure 100K is just the beginning

POST 7Original post

Congrats on your milestone, newport! Vove, just wondering, but which aerokit do you have on the front of your '99? I do love the look of the GT3 MK II side skirts.

POST 8Original post

Very nice. Let us know when it rolls over 200K...

POST 9Original post

Congratulations. I've got a 108k on my 2002 996. I'm wondering how many 996's have 100k miles on them? b-man

newport996 Registered User Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Newport Beach, Ca. Posts: 119 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Porsche remanufactured engines are better than the originals. They are NEW engines that did not pass the original test. So they are ripped apart, ALL PARTS REPLACED, and given a more thorough testing. If it passes then its sent out as a warranty replacement engine. For Porsche they dont wanna replace an engine twice so in their mind they are giving you a BETTER engine for one replaced under warranty. They usually are stronger and are very reliable. I have one so I am speaking from experience and the research I collected when my motor was replaced. Isn't that cheating? 97,500 here not even an RMS '99 C4 Coupe

POST 11Original post

Thanks, I have the MKII front spoiler along with the sideskirts.

POST 12Original post

Forgive me for being a newb on aerokits, but I thought the MK II front-end didn't fit the pre-'02 model? Or did you convert your '99 to the '02 front fascia? Would you mind sharing a pic? Thanks again! Sorry for hijacking the thread.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Never said I had 100k on the motor.....But the clutch (to my knowledge), transmission, and most other stuff...has 100k on it.....No RMS issues either!

POST 16Original post

Congrats ... glad to here there is someone else...Really. Maybe driving alot does have something to do with no RMS failures Len Black '99 C4 coupe

POST 18Original post

Only 60K miles on my 99 996 but 58K of those 60K miles are autocross/DE/Club Racing miles.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
