Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Clean good luck' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean good luck' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just for the record, there's no difference in outward appearance between the Stage 1 Street Performer and the Stage II Track Performer engines - it really all internals, coatings, balancing/blueprinting etc...
Wanted to cross reference this from the 997 forum.
Just sharing that my 997.1 is for sale on BAT. I'm moving to the Bahamas and the logistics of relocating it is daunting. Plus I've owned property there for 20 years and know you really cannot drive much faster than 30 mph. That car deserves better! Here is the link

Super sweet ride, if I didn't already have my '99 in for a Stage II build, I'd be looking HAAARRRRRDDD at selling it to make room for this one. Quick Q - why did you go with a stage I vs II?
^^^ I can't speak directly to the OP, but it's about $2k less expensive. For someone who's only looking for dependability, this could be a real factor. I know in my case (as in most I think) the extra kick in performance, was well worth the extra $, without question...
I'm old(69), do not plan on tracking or pylon racing my car and it is a
2005
C4S so I chose the Stage 1 to keep it "stock appearing". Besides Jake told me the increase in performance WILL be noticeable, which is good enough for me!
Thanks for all of the kind remarks! When I did my contract in late 2015 the stage II added mostly the durability for track use. Or at least that was how I understood it and I did not nor have I tracked this car. Stage I seemed to provided what I needed which was longevity.
^^^ exactly right! I've never tracked or auto-crossed my car (even before I had it re-built). This being said, I thought if I decided to, I'd be more comfortable by going for the extra $2k. Who can pass up the lure of MORE POWER!? Not me... There's nothing that says you "Have To" track it if you get the Stage II Track Performer... I probably will though
Just for the record, there's no difference in outward appearance between the Stage 1 Street Performer and the Stage II Track Performer engines - it really all internals, coatings, balancing/blueprinting etc... Outwardly, they all look stock (unless you do an IPD Plenum or something like that)
I was told the Stage 2 Performer requires a 997 intake box and either the Fister mod or the optional Porsche sport exhaust or an aftermarket freer flowing exhaust. Therefore, no longer stock appearing.
Firstly, I'm not sure who told you that, but they're wrong... Secondly, those two options are basically "stock looking" - you wouldn't even notice them unless you knew what you were looking for... These are basically "sleeper" motors (unless you decide to slap some bling on there) - you wouldn't know they're not stock til you get your foot into it a little...
Yep. Often better to buy one that someone else did. I once bought a restored TR6 for $11k that someone put $25k into. I just bought a house for $100k less than someone put into.
Its often the case.
For sure, I think with houses you at least see some return on certain projects. I think cars are just more personal gratification because you just don't see the return, might as well enjoy it while you can.
