Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello and good evening - Im about to pull the trigger on a 2004 C4S Cabriolet with low miles and excellent condition. Per the dealer, the IMS bearing was replaced as well. I need some guidance on how best to approach getting the vehicle inspected by a neutral 3rd party mechanic. I live approx 350 miles away and am not familiar with anyone I trust in that area. I spoke with a local porsche dealer and they dont do PPIs anymore. Plus us I found out today that this car is from the east coast so it raises concerns about potential rust issues. Whats the the best way to get this done?? max appreciation for your time and advice

Get in touch with someone from the local PCA chapter for a recommendation...

POST 4Original post

Yep, just ask around. I had a car in Indiana towed nearly 200 miles away for a PPI (didn't end up buying it) to a reputable Porsche shop and it wasn't that expensive. The shop guys were super cool too, talking to them on the phone/email about the car and other Porsche stuff in general. On these cars, it's worth it!

POST 6Original post

If you can't find a shop in your area to perform a PPI, I would avoid buying a Porsche. Afterall, would you take it for service and repairs. relinuca
