Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used a small 1/4" drive with a medium deep socket and that fit perfectly in there to get at that bolt.
Leading evidence: 'Use small 1/4" drive' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill coolant was so amazing' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Also the UView 550000 Airlift system for filling the coolant was so amazing.

Also, a Pick and Hook set like this one from Harbor Freight helps to get the hoses off as they likely have been on there a long time and don't want to let go.

When I drain coolant I like to use an empty 5gal bucket inside a large shallow bin to catch anything that misses the bucket and/or any potential overflow (if you use a 5 gal bucket you wont have to worry about overflow).

It uses your compressor to to pull a vacuum on the cooling system then once you are at the correct vacuum you switch it over to fill mode and it completely fills your cooling system, no bleeding or any of that pain in the ****.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 liters or 6.6 gallons (I Googled it)

Porsche coolant needs to be diluted 50/50 with distilled water
It holds just under 6 gallons for a C2 and you probably won't be able to get more than 5 gal or so out with a drain/flush.
It is listed in your owners manual
Do a full flush with distilled water. Its under a buck a gal at walmart
Generally speaking the block and associated components hold about 2.5 gal of coolant. If you jack up the back of the car (or put it on ramps) to give yourself space to work, it should also keep the coolant that's in the lines and radiators up toward the front of the car. When I drain coolant I like to use an empty 5gal bucket inside a large shallow bin to catch anything that misses the bucket and/or any potential overflow (if you use a 5 gal bucket you wont have to worry about overflow). Good luck
For complete flush, you need 3 gal coolant + 3 gal of distilled water.

For just the water pump, you need half of the above because only 3 gals will come out from the engine and the thermostat big hose.
Don't over torque the bolts on the water pump. They really don't need to be very tight though I don't recall the tightening torque off the top of my head (though I did get the head off one of the bolts...)
I found this to be very helpful. Just ignore the part where he puts sealant on the gasket.

Be prepared for a bit of a mess, but it shouldn't be too difficult. If it's the first time you've done this job, on this car - budget 2x what it "should take" timewise
Remove the idler pulley above the water pump, and you'll be able to remove the old pump from the top of the engine bay instead of trying to tease the damn thing out from below. Getting the new pump in without destroying the new gasket was also far easier from the top.
One or two people have argued with me about this. I've done it both ways, so F them.
I wasn't able to get it out from the top, but I found that removing the idler pulley gives you more room to work and makes accessing the water pump bolts a bit easier.
Were these magic grits?
The lowest right bolt is a real pain. I used a small 1/4" drive with a medium deep socket and that fit perfectly in there to get at that bolt. Also the UView 550000 Airlift system for filling the coolant was so amazing. Also, you don't need to goop up. Just the gasket is enough. Good luck!
The bolts are different lengths, so you have to remember which ones go in which hole. I found it helpful to remove a bolt and stick it in the corresponding hole in the new pump.
