Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Man I must have been bored last night. I installed my SSK starting at 11PM and finished in 90 Minutes. Probably could have done it faster if I did it in the day so I could see. Then again vision is overratted. Well I drove it today and love the shorter throw. I do have some questions for you guys who have a SSK. Do you notice a louder sound when you shift it. I notice a kling sound when I shift it in 1,3,5 gears. Its not from the transmission, but like a mechanical sound in the shifter. Its not very loud, but I do hear it. Also dose the SSK makes the shifting more notchy?

POST 3Original post

Yes, more notchy, it will ease up a tiny bit when warm, and after using it for a while. Noise is subjective. The 'hit' when engaged might be more crisp, and sometimes you will notice more of this 'hit' since the shifter is more precise. Love the B&M, that's why we added it to our product lineup! Good move.

POST 4Original post

The thing that is weird for my is that since only the vertical throw is shorter, the horizontal movement remains the same... so when I am shifting from 2nd to 3rd, sometimes I will hit the gate since i am used to just gently pushing the shifter upwards & letting the self centering guide the shifter into 3rd. Now i have to either slow down to allow the self centering to catch up horizontally to the quick vertical throw, or I have to sort of guide the shifter over myself... .anyone else notice this?

POST 5Original post

yes I have, and when on the track I have had trouble getting into third. I thought I needed to open the whole console up again and adjust the linkage?? Steve
