Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The 997 with aftermarket suspension, aero kit, kinesses(sp), exhaust, full carbon fiber package inside. The 996 has sideskirts and oem gt3 wing, techarts, pss9 suspension, fabspeed exhaust and intake. Inside limo tint, eclipse cd player, alpine spx door speakers and crossovers with alpine amp. Sirius radio, built in ipod charger and player, 2 JL audio 10" W3 in built in box behind rear passenger seats. Looks OEM, no visible wires and amp is built in trunk. I just wanted to post these pics because I finally got my car done and plus the 997 looks great. We took them for a hard run on some local back roads.

POST 2Original post

You need a GT3 front spoiler to balance with that wing on that 996'.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had a GT3r front bumper on it, but the bumper was made of fiberglass and it started cracking so i took it off. A aero kit front bumper will be my next mod.

POST 4Original post

You not only need that front aero bumper to balance you NEED it for stability. That is gonna be one shaky car at speed until corrected. FYI....PAG/PCNA will NOT allow the aero to be installed sans 1 piece! Wonder why?

POST 5Original post

Yup, thats is correct...I would keep it under 100 until you get that front end taken care of....You basically are adding lots of downforce on the rear, while allowing lots of air under the front....The front will begin to lift at higher speeds....

POST 6Original post

DHinkle: Hey, great car! Oh wait, you must have taken that picture when I let you borrow my car last week. Hey man, you gotta tell me next time before you remove my front aero, rear lower aero and switch out the rear wing. I'm just glad you put them back on before you returned it to me. Geez, I hope you didn't pull off my EVOMS Supercharger or mess with the exhaust while you were playing around. Seriously, it's a good looking car and I agree that the front aero will bring it all back together nicely. Not to mention vastly improve high speed performance. Please post more pics when your new front end is installed.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

These pictures are of my car with the GT3R front bumper on. (not great pics) StuartFirm: you have a great looking car wanna trade for that supercharger?(jk)

POST 8Original post

Swwweeeeeetttt!!!!!! I'm diggin' that GT3R front end. I hope you get the cracks repaired and put it back on soon. Here's a front & rear end pic of mine too. Also, not the best pics, but the file size on the others are too large and I don't have time right now to shrink them. I really like your rear wings better and would like to know how much more downforce they actually create than mine. Although, mine feels pretty stable, even up to a digitally indicated 180 mph. And even though it feels stable it still worries the hell out of you at that speed. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS. I have a Cup car front splitter on the way from GMG Racing. I'll post pics after it is installed.

POST 9Original post

if you were to hire me as an 911 aesthetics consultant... -get rid of the GT3 wing as it does not match the overall egg shape style look of the '99-'01 car -add the full GT3 aerokit from same generation including the rear strakes -get rid of all amber with OEM clears -get 19" Kinesis wheels with either stepped or reverse lip or better yet BBS LMs but ya gotta run spacers -slam it low on KW3s or whatever else quality coilover system other than pss9s then you got a contender to that beautiful 997. otherwise, the way it's set[up right now... pretty awkward looking, no offense. all of this is pro bono

POST 10Original post

Benjamin: Although your advice is pro bono, do you have a way to get the parts and labor you mention, gratis?

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think mrk 1 or 2 would look sweeeeeet on your car stuart

POST 12Original post

that GT3R front bumper is sweet. where did you get it? is it porsche OEM? can i find one to put on a 2003 C2 cab or will it mess with the car aerodynamics since i wont have matching rear wing?

POST 13Original post

I think the car looks "cute" with the rear wing and stock front... What kinesis are on the 997? K19s?

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had the gt3r bumper laying around in my shop, no its not O.E.M. Since the 2003 model has the face lift i do not know. Your best bet would to buy a GT3 rs (street car) front bumper or try ruf.

POST 15Original post

YOUR'RE FIRED!!! Dhinkle, your car looks good with the GT3R bumper.
