Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check manifold bolt tightness' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check 'em out' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
I would also look for a leaking water pump...they start to make noise and since its driven by the belt, it changes its frequency when revving....then once things war up, it seems to go away.....mine did this, just replace the water pump and its quiet as ever...before it rattled at startup really bad....my wife actually came into the garage one morning as I was leaving and said, "that doesnt sound good."...

Would you happen to know the torque setting for plugs offhand?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When my engine is cold, I have what sounds like an exhaust leak from one side of the car, kind of a "fluffering" sound....... not "wispy" , more like a "chuff". After the engine gets
fully
warm, at normal operating temp, it stops. It's not noticable standing next to the car at idle, but very noticable when accelerating next to some type of barrier to the side of the car that allows the sound to bounce back (like a retaining wall).
No rattles. No evidence of a major manifold or pipe failure.
Anyone had anything similar?
Could the manifold gasket have failed and not seal properly when the surfaces are cold and contracted, yet finally seal when fully hot?
I've checked the manifold bolt tightness.
Thanks for any ideas.
Almost always an exhaust leak, even minor will cause significant popping like backfireing when decelerating. This would much more evident than the exhaust making a noise with a slight leak at the head to header seal. Hope this helps.
Loose clamps on the exhaust will cause a small "chuff" like noise. You have one on either side of the car where the catalytic coverter goes into the muffler. If your noise sounds like its coming from the center rear then this could be your problem.
