Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I marked all the alignments/adjustments before removal and double checked fit afterwards.
Leading evidence: 'Check fit afterwards' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'same issue' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fit afterwards' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey, what's one more window regulator thread?! (Sorry about the YUUUGE pics)
Before I bought the Chinese $89 one, I did my homework and read all the threads on here about which was better, if there was any difference of note, should I pony up for the Porsche OEM one, etc. Couple guys said they had had the cheap one in there for a long time with no issues, so I bought and installed one one of the bargain ones. It lasted about 2 years, 10k miles. So, this time around, I bought the OEM one after my bargain one failed. Couple photos of interest.
The one I got from Pelican (no affiliation), '99 coupe, passenger side was Porsche # 996 542 07604. Here she is, the green plastic parts are on the OEM one.
The old one's cable had slipped out of the groove, or the guide wheel had broken -resulting in the cable going between the wheel and the frame- a serious bind. Probably the same issue with everyone's.
Here's the old and new for comparison (OEM is green)
My observations; The OEM appears to be generally better casted, heavier parts, and more substantial all around. The green guide wheels are of a sturdier, better grade plastic. The cable on the OEM looks larger to me (I should've mic'd it). The OEM glass carriers (slides) are definitely more robust and of a higher quality casting, rather than the stamped ones on the other import. I almost always buy OEM parts for all my cars, don't know why I skipped this before.
Straightforward install, took about 1.5 hrs, but I'm careful and meticulous. I marked all the alignments/adjustments before removal and double checked fit afterwards.
Lots of window use for me here around Nashville this summer, will it last any longer??
I bought a uRO regulator when someone tried to break in to my car .
They tried to pry the window open .
The description said it had ball bearing reducing
motor effort by 40% , I thought cool it's cheaper and an upgrade , it lasted 3000 miles and 8 months .
I replaced it with oem when if failed
Thanks for posting the detailed differences between the OEM and replica version of these window regulator, that's great info. I will definitely go OEM when mine breaks. Thanks & cheers,
