Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check battery connections as well' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check battery connections as well' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Pulled in to my driveway at work (slight uphill) and reverse to turn around. There's a small dip and I didn't give it enough gas to back over it and stalled. Tried to restart and it slow cranked (like a weak battery) and would not fire. Let it sit for 30-45 min. and it fired right up. Charging at just under 14V, battery is a year old and all seems fine.
I do notice that it fires up every morning without pressing the gas. But if I stop and restart I have to give it a little throttle for it to fire right up.
CPS, Y-cable, ICV (idles fine all the time)… Thoughts?
This is a known issue to the FSI folks - I had the same issue of slow cranking on a warm restart and they said they know what the issue is and will correct on reinstallation. I'll reach out and see what they say.
Just throwing it out there...maybe unburned fuel in the cylinders causes a "hydrolock" condition after a stall. I can tell you that our cars do not like to stall. I was stupid once and simply did not give it enough gas in a major intersection and the car stalled. Took three attempts to fire up again. That was years ago. Glad you got it fired back up.
Also, on the restart issue, remember by giving it some throttle, you actually are just opening the throttle body to provide more air. The TB does not provide a fuel/air mix like older cars, it just opens to provide more air. Maybe something is going on with your fuel injectors? However, it that was the case, you would probably get some P codes related to the O2 sensors. Well...food for thought...
I have the hot start, slow crank issue too, Bill. My car has only failed to start once, and that was after several short trips in 110+ summer heat. Only I didn't wait, it fired up about 10 seconds later. From what I have learned I need to get off my butt and fix the Y-cable. I have no reason to believe it's the starter because it is otherwise a champ. Maybe if I order one now it'll motivate me...
This has happened to me before - accidental stall then hot start issue - very difficult to crank over. Left for an hour - fired back up. Fully charged battery + new Y cable - only thing left was the starter which I replaced and it never happened again.
If your starter is original time for a new Bosch one i'd say
quite easy to swap out - you only need to remove the airbox, throttle body + plenum.
