I'm not a fan of painting the entire wheel, but if your rims have a lip, I'd recommend painting or powdercoating the centers and polishing the lip.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone show me some pics of porsches with body colored wheels? The look is really growing on me, it seems to be more common in Europe. Does anyone have any experience with painting the factory alloy wheels rather than buying new ones? What about aftermarket wheels in color? Thanks

POST 2Original post

i think body colored wheels can look good on certain cars. eg Aero kitted cars, and cars of a darker shade. Also, it really depends on what wheel you are painting/powdercoating. I'm not a fan of painting the entire wheel, but if your rims have a lip, I'd recommend painting or powdercoating the centers and polishing the lip. Sets off a nice contrast.

POST 3Original post

I agree, the polished lip is a great way to accent the wheel, it frames it. It also helps if we are talking about anything grey, since it can look like you just have bad brake dust when you do the whole rim.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My wheels are 18' Turbo look, (as you can see) so there isn't really a way to keep the lip polished. A local rim refinisher has quote $150.00 per rim, but I am looking for pictures before I even consider it.
