Sounds like it effectively changes the input curve of the electronic accelerator pedal?

The 944 guys do this by replacing the throttle quadrant with that of a smaller diameter.

FWIW, I've been running an RSS UD pulley for years with no issues.

Unless we're living life one track event at a time like Slakker, isn't this dyno talk just an exercise in using rhetoric to inundate others with our beliefs on the marginal utility of aftermarket modifications?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i picked up my car in Nov but of course winter sucks in MI but lately its been warming up so time for some mods
first a speedtech x-pipe, loving the growl now
then a smarttop which is a welcome addition, checked the drains while i was there and they were clear
next the sprint booster, its crazy how much difference this makes, i am getting one for my audi now
next the ipd competition plenum and gt3 throttle body
and an underdrive pulley
just finished the fabspeed competition intake, i will update photos tomorrow
right now it revs faster, accelerates faster so i am happy so far, its the way i expected a 911
i want to drive it for a bit before i put the tune on to see if i can see a difference
the sprint booster really surprised me, the throttle is much more responsive, i should create a video because its hard to believe without seeing it
hard to tell the tb because i did the plenum, pulley and air intake as well at the same time since i already was back there
So you installed the sprint booster before the other items and tested it independent of the others and really noticed a difference? I'm intrigued. Sounds like it effectively changes the input curve of the electronic accelerator pedal? Is this correct? So essentially 1mm or travel at the pedal is seen by the computer as 2mm for example?
Assuming that wire isn't part of the sprint booster?
Also is your car an automatic or manual? Did you find it more difficult to control your revs? (if your car is manual).
I had a LWFW that the previous owner installed and I had removed. I remember the throttle response was awesome and had some performance gains. I'm wondering if the sprint booster would make it trickier to control your revs
just the xpipe was done at that point
yes exactly it removes the delayed response that these silly pedals have today so when you floor it the throttle body responds faster
its manual, and yes the car is a little different but after a few mins i had it figured out
The wire connects to it so you have 3 modes, when the light is off its stock, press the button to green and its in sport and then again it turns red for race. This is nice so you adjust it to where you want
What brand is the underdrive pulley? Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like one from with spokes as opposed to solid. I'd be leery about running that style as they are prone to breakage, a quick google and you'll find plenty of info.
FWIW, I've been running an RSS UD pulley for years with no issues.
The exhaust was the first thing i did to ensure that was not the case, i drove it for over a week to get adapted, then i put the booster and that is a clear difference in feeling, for sure it does not make more power but the throttle response is so much better.
Then for the pulley, intake, throttle body etc its hard to say what part changed it. If I was patient I would have done it one by one but I didnt want to take it apart numerous times
i am going to drive it for a bit and then do the tune to see if things improve more which I hope they will obviously.
Doesn't the faster throttle response makes the car more twitchy to drive? Am I correct to say that all it does is decrease the amount the pedal needs to go down for the throttle valve to open (the ratio between the pedal and throttle valve increased)? The 944 guys do this by replacing the throttle quadrant with that of a smaller diameter.
Those air filters for sure will make the engine even louder than the convert bypass pipe. Not sure if it will add any HP considering where it draws the air from. Many times people associate louder engine to hp increase and drive the car more aggressively just to hear the engine.
i didnt notice any difference in the engine sound with the intake actually but I only drove it quickly last night, its loud with the catless downpipes and the pse exhaust anyway
its a little twitchy at first andit took a few mins to adjust to but you can turn the booster off anyway and then its fine
Its been snowing here so the car is parked in the garage again until I get back from EU in late March
Ordered the Bilstein PSS10 's and cant wait to get those on there for a track day in early April, need to order some new Pads for that.
I installed a Sprint Booster over a year ago and it's a very noticeable difference. I keep it in the green mode. I found it helped with blipping the throttle for rev matching, too. Turning it off, the car feels sluggish. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did. If you add a tune, like Softronic, it's an even bigger difference in throttle response.
I started my pss 10 install last night, finished one side, it took about 3 hrs I think. Holy crap working on a car that has never been winter driven or seen salt is amazing, everything came off like it was brand new without a hitch ! thats a first lol. Of course now that I say that I probably jinxed myself and the other side will be a nightmare lol.
Installed new strut mounts and bearings, the stock ones were not as bad as I expected but the bump stops were pretty deteriorated.
I didnt adjust the coilover height I left them as they came, the front was lowered 1" which is exactly what i wanted but the rear was only 1/8" so I will need to lower that after I get the other side done
some new hp plus pads for a track day in a couple of weeks
hopefully i will get the other side done tonight
Got the rest finished last night, on setting 5 all around the car is less harsh over bumps etc but turns in better for sure. The front seems to have more grip than before and the rear is more tail happy for sure, I will need to get a little more comfortable before I track it in a couple of weeks lol
From my experience the bigger throttle body gives already a much agile and better gas response.
I think a tune will render the Sprintbooster obsolete. As the e-gas response will be tuned within the ECU. You will get rid of the delay.
Not sure the Sprintbooster will be compatible with a tune as the tuned e-gas signal will be 'amplified' again.
I really wish you would have done some dyno runs before hand and then went back to the same dyno after you were done so we could have some good empirical evidence rather than manufacturers claims and butt dyno anecdotes . :/

same here, I installed my tune last night and there was no difference to the operation of the SPrintbooster
if i understand correctly the delay is in the pedal electronics so a tune cannot fix that, its like that on tons of cars these days I have the same issue on my Audi
