Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have never before used a 3d printer or software to design these parts, but it was pretty exiting process of learning and mind blowing experience being able to create something which started as an idea and a sketch to final part which i get to see and use everyday.

For the k40 calibre led signals i did not like the size of the bulbs and their brightness, especially in the night, so decided to use 1.5mm fibre optic cable to reduce its footprint, brightness as well make it invisible when not signaling, here are some shots when testing the fitment
Leading evidence: 'Use 3d printer or software' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test fitment' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have learned quite a bit from the forums, so i thought i'll share my little project i just finished. I always find inspiration looking through pictures of how others solved problems so hopefully this will help others decide how to install aftermarket parts.
I purchased 996TT with quite a bit of upgrades, few of which worked itself into the cabin. I was never a fan of aftermarket look so i decided to make some changes.
Goal was to create a cubby to house:
- AEM Gauge
- Greddy boost control unit
- k40 calibre signal leds
Most importantly
i needed to keep the look as close to OEM as possible.
Here is the pic of what it used to look
First step was to recreate a cubby with all its mounting components then apply placement and mounting for the gauge and controller. Here is what my idea of new cubby would be (my car is speed yellow so i'm bringing this color inside):
After couple of prototype prints, i got it to fit perfectly.
Next challenge was to match the OEM texture of the plastic as well as the color: Here is example of OEM cubby (below) and painted part (sitting on top) - not perfect but pretty close:

And a shot of those lit using a flash light
Since my interior is full carbon fiber i wanted to keep it as part of this build.
I found it best to cut carbon fiber close to desired size and sand excess to exact shape (vs trying to cut it perfectly). On the picture above you can see printed back plate used as a template while sanding.
Most rewarding part was fitting it all together, and painful days of wait for everything to dry out.
I have never before used a 3d printer or software to design these parts, but it was pretty exiting process of learning and mind blowing experience being able to create something which started as an idea and a sketch to final part which i get to see and use everyday.
Whole project took maybe 3 weeks tinkering in the evenings when possible and here is the result:
I ended up dropping the yellow cover for greddy controller as it felt bit too much.
Best of luck with your projects!
