My remote entry does not work. Car sat for 2 weeks. 1. key buttons still not working after starting the car w key. i know about the inactivity mode. 2. key led flashes and battery has been swapped 3. 2nd key works perfectly 4. tried resetting the faulty key by reversing battery polarity for 3 and 10 seconds. nothing changed. What I can do before taking to the dealer?

Mine just did the same thing. Tried the reverse polarity thing. Nothing. Tried a new battery. Nothing But, I can still lock and unlock the car with the key and it arms/disarms the alram that way. I have no desire to spend a couple hundred bucks on a new key so I will continue to just do it the oldfashioned way.

Remote keys are known failure items, there was even a technical bulletin that came out on them with regards to 2003 models. If you are still under factory warranty (regardless of year), they will replace it for free. Otherwise cost is about $225 if I remember right.

270$ a key at the dealership. Or...buy the key head on eBay (80$) and take it to the dealership for programming (60$). At least cuts the price in half. The 60$ at the dealership remains the same whether you have them program 1 or 2 keys.

chances are you dont need a new key, just a reprogram. both of my keys have died like this. i am still under warranty, so no cost, otherwise i guess you are looking at a minimum charge.......

you cant reprogram a key with out the original key code tag, even then chances are they key still wont work
