Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Never did a p-car and recall needing an impact gun to tighten the top nut on the shock (different car).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am swapping my springs back to OEM and I suspect that my qoute is high. The shop is saying 1.5 hours per corner and then another 3 hours for the alignment. 9 hours seems a bit steep isnt it?
Thanks for any help.
It should not take 9 hours to complete this job as they stated. Swapping the springs should take no more than two hours for someone that knows exactly what they are doing. I waited about an hour for my alignment at HBL. What shop did you get this quote from?
The car is at WagonWorks getting some panels sprayed and they said that they could do it also. Porsche of Arlington also backed up that estimate stating that it should take 10 hours with $300 for an alignment.
Maybe I should host a DIY for un-installing H&Rs like the other guys in the forum who were smarter than me.
Question for those that have done a Shock/Spring swap yourself. Do you need an impact gun or can it all be done with hand tools. Never did a p-car and recall needing an impact gun to tighten the top nut on the shock (different car). Thanks-Paul
Sounds like they have a dollar amount in mind for the job and are quoting much more time than necessary to justify the cost. Many businesses catering to affluent customers do this as they think it will go un-noticed, and does for the most part. My alignment shop will do my 996 for $56 which includes everything front and rear and takes about 45 minutes. By request I have the owner do my cars and he does an outstanding job.
