Also turned out that the neighbors are having problems as well so I am pretty sure at this point its just the envy factor then anything personal.

I have the police comming out right now, my insurane agent does not even know about the car yet and they are going to have a 10-15K repair bill after they pull the dents out the doors and paint the entire car.

Does anybody know how much it costs to repaint a entire 911, plus replace two door panels, and a hood?

I got a settlement some years ago on a perfect 3 series BMW that was run into during a snow storm.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well parked the car in my garage last night for the first time, someone broke in and the entire car is keyed, every single body panel, every bumper, every light every thing. I have been looking for a 911 for months that was perfect, saved for three years and this is what I get.

I was yelling so loud that the neigherbors above me came down.
So mad right now, life sucks but at least they did not break the windows or brake the light lens or stap through the sheet meta.l
OUCH.....Sorry to hear that...amazing how some people want to damage other peoples beuatiful things....its just envy and instead of admiring a wonderful machine and enjoying it, they want to destroy it.....Good luck on the repairs.
What a nightmare..sorry you had to go through this with your new 911. This incident sounds like its personal since if they only wanted to steal some stuff, they would have done so and left the car alone. I dont know why people would go to the extent of keying someone's car, what type of satisfaction comes from such ignorant actions?.. Gluck with the repairs.
I really doubt its personal, I don't live in the greatest part of town and it has happened to my neighbors as well. Well the neighborhood is strange, million dollar homes next to shacks next to high end condos next to section 8 housing.
Welcome to San Diego, what really upsets me is that the wife and I were going to cruise up the coast and have breakfast and now we are sitting at home waiting for the cops.
OMG! That's horrific. Has to be someone you know or in the neighborhood. G.D. envy. I saved for 25 years for my 1st 911 and I envied the guys that had what I could only dream about. But to go to this kind of effort just to deface the car. It's like a hate crime! Not racial but it feels just as bad. Man, I feel for ya.
As fas cost of repairs, here in KC your 10-15k is probably pretty accurate. Maybe higher in SD? LOVE San Diego, but is does have some bizarre zoning. Really sorry to hear about this. Good luck getting it all straightened out.
That really does suck, wow. Sure sounds like you have an enemy, but it could just be random.
Do yourself a favor and have a video surveillance system install, because it could happen again.
Going to set up a video camera and put a sign up that says the entire garage is being video taped. Also turned out that the neighbors are having problems as well so I am pretty sure at this point its just the envy factor then anything personal.
I will very seriously financly hurt who did this if I ever catch them, I have lots of lawyer friends/family who I can call upon.
I would look into a few hidden cameras. That is terrible what they did to your car.
I hope you get some cameras, and catch them trying it again. It's probably just some punk kids that need their asses beat- maybe you even know them.
I've had my car spit on, garbage thrown on it, drinks poured on it, and a suspcious gouge taken out of the paint.. if I ever caught someone doing these things.. I swear I would put someone in the hospital I'd beat them so bad. It makes me so angry hearing about this stuff.
Thats a shame. I hear stories like this of people doing things just to be A-holes and I'm so glad nothing like this has happend to me. I don't deal well with this sort of thing and tend to do things that would be bad for me and my family. I'm totaly pissed and its not even my car.
Good luck with the outcome.
That is trully a crappy thing to have to experience. It does sound like a psycho ex, but it could have been just a random pscho too - the video surveillance camera is a good idea - you don't want to get it repainted and then trashed again without at least knowing who the assclown is. If you find him, take him about 7 miles offshore and toss his *** over the side.
Oh man, I can't even imagine that happening to my car EVER, let alone 32 hours of getting it! I can't understand what goes through people's minds that makes them want to do this. It just makes me sick! Good luck with the insurance company and keep us posted on the progress of the repairs.
1) Bet It's local - so start looking at who's about on the streets looking at your car, and other peoples cars.
2) It's way too much of a co-incidence that you got your new ride, then had the break-in - someone saw you park the car, or knew you had it, and came back after dark.
3) It could be someone you know who bears a grudge - but (1) is most likely based on experience.
Idiots who do these acts, tend not to travel far to do them - it's probably someone on your block who knows the location, and can get back to his/her house quickly to avoid detection.
If your neighbours have the same issues, that almost makes it a cert.
Ask the cops who they have on the books locally - worth keeping an eye on them.
I ended up staking out my car, dressed all in black, with a large aluminum baseball bat on weekend nights.
And I caught the little b@st@rd from just round the corner, and left him with the distinct impression I'd kill him next time.
Never had any more bother...
Chris.
Man, believe me... Everyone feels your pain. That is just horrible. What is it with people and their contempt for us and these cars? With me, it's usually some redneck at the stop light, or in traffic, that haggles me. I actually had a guy, stopped at a light, say "Nice car, *******." for absolutely no reason. I've several stories of unprovoked insults from other drivers that were completely unprovoked. Having the top down makes you a big target..
Sorry to hear about this. It is hard go believe how someone could do this.
When you talk to your insurance agent, don't forget to ask about a diminished value payout. Assuming your car had never been painted, regardless of how good a paint job you get, your car will never be worth the same money. You will probably need to get an appraisal for what it would have been worth prior to this incident and what it will be worth after you have it repaired. The difference is what the insurance company owes you. I got a settlement some years ago on a perfect 3 series BMW that was run into during a snow storm.
I know about the diminished value, at this point the advice has been to go to the insurance for the payout and the HOA who is responsible for security for he deductible and the loaner car money, I have a police report, and will have a estamate done tommorow at Amato's. Really I just want the car back in the shape that I bought it in as quick as possible.
Thanks for all the replies, and the camera is one its way, I just have to get it installed and transmitting. .
get it repainted by a reputable shop. hope your deductible isn't crazy. save pics and papers for future if you do sell it.
get a car cover, alarm, and a camera if you can.
Man, sorry to hear it. Everyone has opinions of who & why, but don't lose sleep over it. I do agree w/ Riad and a video survellience system sounds like a good investment. More importantly, like you said, put some monitoring/burglar system stickers and signs up immediately.
Chris is gungho for staying up and getting the kid... that's real dedication. =)
NP? I am in RP, and I am trying to figure out what NP would stand for. There are so many P cars and F cars around I would think people would be desensitized enough to not do an envy crime on it.
Cars are covere for 30 days (15 if you ask some companies) from puchase without even calling your agent, though you should quickly. The deductible and coverages are to be equal to the other cars already on the policy.
I live in north Park, so NP.
My agent will not be back until wednesday, I will be calling her that morning, talked to a friend of a friend at who works at synidicate and might have them repaint the car in some crazy color or scheme, if the value is going to go out of the car anyway might as well go out with a bang. Amato says 7-10K to fix which will more then cover the crazy paint job.
They want to do something wild, and have painted a few race 911's so I have seen there work in the past. I might have it done up like the P51 mustang styled race 996's, does anybody have a picture of one of thoses.
