Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I live an hour and half away from the dealership. I have a CPO Warranty. My left mirror is not operating. My right mirror operates fine. When I first got the car the mirror worked. One day I had to hold the button down and suddenly after about 1 minute or so it started to move. Now nothing. Not sure if it is a motor, or switch issue but I am thinking there are only a few parts and it can be narrowed down to what the problem is. Year 2002 Before I make the trip out there I asked the dealership to please let me know if it would be covered or not. A. They said it is $120 for a diagnostic charge that will be applied to the work if it is not covered under the warranty. B. They said if it falls under the right category and matches the part number that it would. They were pretty vague and could not give me any other information. C. If it is not covered and I decline the work I am out the $120 Also I am not sure if the mood of the mechanic in how he inspects the issue if that would make the difference of whether or not its covered. 1. If it is covered simple bring the car to the dealership. 2. If it is not covered order the part and install it myself? 3. If there is a gray area on whether they will cover or not, how do I approach the situation to make sure the "mood" is going my way. Before I call another dealership to get a better explanation I thought I would get someone's opinion that may know more about this? Thanks Chris

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will try to call another dealership on Monday. Until then any feedback or opinions are welcome.

POST 3Original post

They CAN tell you EXACTLY if it is covered or not. Explain the situation in more detail to them and ask them to tell you what is covered based on POSSIBLE fixes. Then you can make the decision. Is the 1.5 hours from YOUR dealership or the CLOSEST dealer? If there is one closer go there. Your CPO is honored at ALL dealers.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Dell. The clutch was replaced at the dealership 1.5 hours away. There is another dealership in Pasadena that would only be about 1 hour away. I will give them a call.
