Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The pump was running but no fluid coming out on windshield. Suddenly the pump sped up & got louder. looking under the car , lots of water. Will I need to remove the driver side under panel to get to the pump & possible damage?

Take out the inner fender liner on driver side. locate the washer/wisher reservoir. The pump is wedged in a rubber grommet at the back of the reservoir iirr.. I've seen it pop out of that grommet and leak all the washer fluid out. other hose connections are also there that go to a complicated combination of windshield and headlight spray heads with valves and connectors along the way.... Anyhow, looking around in there behind inner fender is a good start to troubleshoot your problem...

I once had the fluid hose disconnect at a "Y" that is behind the battery. When installing a new battery, it is easy to pull the line off the "Y". May be worth checking.
