Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there an airbag sensor somewhere attached under the Passengers seat? Pretty sad I've got the service CD at home but if anyone knows an can get me headed in the right direction it would be appreciated. The scenerio. I'm gone for a week and my brother was babysitting the cars. He took the 996 out one night and took his nearly 7 ft. tall buddy along and he said as soon as the goon got in the passengers seat and got it moved all the way back the air bag light came on and will now not go off. (That's his story and he's sticking to it). I looked in the dark garage this morning with little success. Going to go home this afternoon and check into it further and wondering where to start looking. Thanks

POST 2Original post

no theres a plug for the buckle probaly have a fault for it most 996s have had the buyckles replaced at least once and the grounds redone if you have someone reset the light it will probaly stay out for a while

POST 3Original post

I think it has something to do with the buckle. I've had two buckles replaced in two seperate cars under warranty. I don't think it was a big deal, but then again, I didn't write a check...........

POST 4Original post

I just got my air bag light reset for passenger side. I had move the seat max back which probably pulled on the wires to cause a disconnect.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
