Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

However, I talked with a Cayenne S owner at the local dealer and they had no problems at all (used 5 times).

I bought the Total Protection Plan from Prizm (backed by Lyndon Insurance) when I got my 2000 C2 last month (recommended by dealer).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I purchased a policy from Warranty Direct with the extra seals and gasket coverage, but I've yet to have to use it. However, I talked with a Cayenne S owner at the local dealer and they had no problems at all (used 5 times). The service department even started to recommend them. As for claims they said that they were easy to deal with and paid quickly. Hopefully that service will continue if I have a problem.
Do a search and you will find oodles of information regarding aftermarket warranties and Porsche cars. General consensus--not a good idea, and we have seen a lot of those companies go under, letting their warranty holders hold the bag and get nothing in the end. Most people have suggested investing the $3K or whatever they cost in an interest-bearing account and leaving it there for the bigger repairs. Hopefully you won't have to rebuild an engine or do any major repairs on the car and you will end up winning in the end...
I had them with my BMW. As long as your dealer/mechanic is willing to make a few extra phone cars to get paid, it works out well.
I pretty much got my moneys worth out of it and it was transferable to the guy I sold the car to.
I use them for my MB. Paid about $3800.00 for it prior to the expiration of the mfg. warranty. I have used it once for a $245.00 claim and there was no hassle. Obviously I haven't gotten my money's worth out of it; however, with a V-12 engine I wouldn't do without it.
I bought the Total Protection Plan from Prizm (backed by Lyndon Insurance) when I got my 2000 C2 last month (recommended by dealer). They have 4 levels of protection, and I got the top one. Also, since the car had under 40K miles, I got it at a lower rate (slightly). This particular level states that everything is covered EXCEPT those things specifically listed. Surpisingly, this list of things not covered is pretty short, and most of the items are expected anyway: battery, glass, light bulbs, brake rotors and drums, clutch assmebly and plates, carpet, paint, tires. [Other warranty levels protect just listed items such as are powertrain (engine, transmission etc), cooling, electrical, steering, suspension, etc., but the savings wasn't that great]
So, I took it in 4 days ago (Monday) for some exterior molding that was coming loose and the passenger seat motor (made a funky clicking sound). The service center also found an oil leak (not RMS *whew*). The service center just called and said everything was under the warranty and my only out of pocket would be my $50 deductible. I don't know the final cost yet, but they told me that the seat repair was over $800 by itself.
Two more positives: I didn't have to pre-submit any claims before taking the car in and I don't have to get reimbursed for the repairs -> the warranty paid directly to the service center.
I'll follow up tomorrow when I pick up the car, but I have to say that (so far) this warranty is working out. [hopefully they keep on the up and up].

Repair master is the same way. So far, I've just had to drop the car at the dealer and they take care of everything. I pay my deductible, mine was 200 bucks.
Warranty Direct can be purchased direct. I have a friend who uses them. In general, however, I would feel safer with one purchased through the dealer - given the issues people have had with having their company go under.
what happens if these guys find out that you have particpated in autocross and track events(DE's)?
Is the warranty voided? I mean its not like they can't check the 'black box' and see you were revving the hell out of the car on certain days.
I had WD for my X5 (a very very troublesome X5). Never any problems at all. The dealer needed the warranty info the first time i used it, then after that it was all automatic. I had the really comprehensive one with 0 deductible, so getting things fixed (which i did on average 6 times a year) was just like doing it when the car was under the manufacturers warranty.
To summarize: Highly recommended.
Had W.D. policy on my Boxster. Never had a claim, but when I sold the car they processed the refund for the unused balance 2 days after I faxed the cancellation letter. Customer service was very good. Warranty Direct is based in Uniondale, New York, not California, so make sure you are actually talking to the same company.
