As foir whether you should replace it or not...I would take a look at it when the tranny is out (or have dealer check) and make the decision based on how it looks.

Suggestion
the first question to ask is whether the dealer fixing the RMS will perform the repair for only the cost of the parts (around $2,500 for a liteweight flywheel) since the engine is already out of the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car is at the dealer being checked out for possible RMS leak. If the RMS is going to be replaced (under warranty), should I have the clutch replaced at the same time? The car is about 4 y.o.; 36K miles; 1 previous owner (leased); and I drive mostly in the suburbs. The clutch is functioning OK, so this would be purely prophylactic. Is the flywheel a wear and tear item that needs replacement at the same time? How much should this set me back if the RMS will be taken care of under warranty? TIA.

Stock clutch kit can be bought at the dealer for about $500 -$700. You do not need to touch the flywheel. As foir whether you should replace it or not...I would take a look at it when the tranny is out (or have dealer check) and make the decision based on how it looks. Depending on driver, the clutch could have considerable wear or could look like new.
It's really up to you, dealer will check it and give you the recommendation... They found mine worn-down during 30k inspection, but it still worked fine though. My Bro-in-law (PO) graciously replaced it for me for $1200. WOW what a difference now, the feel is much softer, lighter, smoother and precise. If your clutch is heavy and stiff it could be a sign of wear and tear. The bad news is that it won't be covered by your warranty (wear & tear item). Good luck,
Cheers,
I did my clutch at the same time (25K miles). Worn 40% so they told me. Didn't have reason to disbelieve them. However, the one thing I did do was to buy the clutch kit myself off of EBay. There are some OEM Sachs clutch kits being sold out of Orange county in Southern California. I paid around ~$400 vs the dealer at $700. The dealer charged a small amount of additional labor over and above the RMS. So far so good on the clutch. No complaints.
Well the bad news is that the RMS was leaking and in addition so was a valve cover. After having it all apart, the dealer is recommending I replace the clutch while the tranny is out so that will be just for the cost of the parts. I love my extended warranty (Warranty Direct).
Replace the clutch. Like the dealer said...parts only. There should not be any additional labor charge.
I replaced my clutch when in for a RMS at 26K. Money well spent and I only had worn the clutch down by less than 30%.
