Fitted x-pipe and sports headers from topgear half a year ago.

I have run into a slight problem with fitment, the bolts that hold the hanger bracket protrude into the pipes, skewing them from lining up properly.

I notice the Fabspeed version includes 5mm hex sockets screws to replace the bolts, (I know someone will point out that you get what you pay for) but even removing the bracket doesnt solve the issue.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm sure that didn't help much but I wanted to point out that the xpipe does fit properly.
Anyone else install the catted xpipe from the recent group buy? I have run into a slight problem with fitment, the bolts that hold the hanger bracket protrude into the pipes, skewing them from lining up properly.

Is it normal to have to wrestle the thing into position?
I mean, the flanges are quite out of line, I worry that trying to make it fit will result in leaks there.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I had a shop install mine and they had zero issues. I consulted with another member before purchasing mine a few months ago because I worried about fitment issues as well. The shop said everything lined up and it was a pretty easy install. Hopefully, someone who installed themselves and had a little difficulty will chime in. I'm sure that didn't help much but I wanted to point out that the xpipe does fit properly. You may just need some guidance on how to line it up. I'll also note that I absolutely love mine!
Thanks for the reassurance, it's nice to know you ilke the unit. I am not a newbie at wrenching, and the design of the x pipe only allows one way of installation. Any chance of taking a pic of yours? I would like to see how the shop handled the bracket attachment. I did e-mail Topgear, waiting to see what they have to say.
Currently my car is in the shop getting serviced. I can't find the thread I started a while back inquiring about a good and not so expensive XPipe. A few members commented and had the TopGear unit which sold me on it. One had detailed pics and a writeup on how to install and his own personal suggestions on what to watch for. For some reason it disappeared and doesn't even show up when I search on my own posts. weird. If I find it or get my car back in the next day or so i'll send you pics. Hopefully, you'll have it sorted out before then.
I will post my issue also here. Did not participate in the group buy. Fitted x-pipe and sports headers from topgear half a year ago. Together with brand new o2 sensors. Will convert back to stock for the following reasons.
- From the beginning I got pending codes for cat conversion efficiency, no CEL till last week. CEL is caused by cats, no other codes present.
- the drone at 2800-3200 rpm with WOT drove me crazy
curious about other experience after so many ordered this x pipe
