On the other end are the ones that go bankrupt and desert policyholders with nothing but a worthless piece of paper...as many people have suggested in the past, I would open an interest bearing savings account with the money you were going to use on a warranty and save it for a major repair...hopefully you'll never need it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A month ago, I bought extended warranty with Fidelity Worldwide Corporation/Exotic Warranty Company... Called today to present claim, to my surprise, an officer from the Florida Financial Services Department (State Agency) answered phone indicating the State has seized the company for operating without a License.. Alreaday paid $2900 for this warranty thru AA AutoWarranty.com... Any recommendations about a reputable Extended Warranty company..??? Thanks in advance..

POST 2Original post

I have the same warranty...is this true?? I am really worried right now!!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Called today to the Florida Service Location ([phone removed]), the state office answered phone... She told me the State was seizing company today... She took my name indicated somebody will call back with more info, so for none has called.. AA Autowarranty confirmed it.. I understand they were operating without License from the State of Florida.. You probably have different company since you are in California... Good luck...

POST 5Original post

the compaby fidelity operated out of Montgommery Alabama...I have done a long research before I bought it and couldn't find any claims against the company...I found the owner was a rich guy who made his money during the internet boom and the owner is a car freak.....I will try to find that info again...and maybe we can contact him directly.

POST 8Original post

How long ago did you buy the warranty? If you used a credit card you may be able to dispute the charge and get a charge back to your card. If that company excepts credit cards then a bank would hold "reserves". I would put the claim in right away to get your money back!!

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I paid with credit card about a month ago, already placed the item in dispute. However, I paid to the insurance broker (AA Autowarranty), who now claims is not responsible for this b/o they are insurance brokers... They indicated will do an efort to collect my $$$...

POST 11Original post

I never thought about it before but I guess the warranty companies are the best source for information about the quality of older cars. It's sad to see two German cars at the top of his list for being the most expensive to insure. An excerpt from the attachment: Being in the warranty business and fixing a ton of cars every day, here's my experience from least reliable: (4/29/2004) 1.) Mercedes-Benz 2.) Porsche 3.) Hummer H1 4.) Mazda RX-7 series Those 3 are the *big* money losers (hence rates getting ready to nearly double on the H1). I was surprised to see as many MB repairs as we do, it's never anything critical that breaks, usually just the luxury fluff which is highly expensive. Porsche's seem to just leak fluids every day. That's about all they are good for

POST 12Original post

When I was looking for my car I checked into the AA Auto warranty. They have a logo that tries to emulate Triple A -AAA, but make it just different enough to get away with it. Anyway, I asked my car broker friend who does most of his business off of extended warranties. He said he had never heard of this company, and if they were any good he would know about them. He warned that most of these guys will take your money and be gone very shortly thereafter.

POST 13Original post

I just contacted my broker and the exotic car warranty company and both assured me there was nothing wrong and if you have a claim just fax them the bill and they will pay...they told also they can't write any more policies in Florida and California, because of license issues, but this doesn't affect their already costumers...... I am not affiliated with them.....just a policy holder....and got very worried when I read your email......when I asked the guy at fidelity why the financial office of Florida state answered the phone, he said they shouldn't have....... So hopefully this helps and let us know if your claim went thru??

POST 14Original post

With all of the horror stories I have heard about aftermarket warranties, I don't think I will ever get one...it seems that whenever you put in a claim for most of them, they want to point to the small print and tell you why they won't pay out. On the other end are the ones that go bankrupt and desert policyholders with nothing but a worthless piece of paper...as many people have suggested in the past, I would open an interest bearing savings account with the money you were going to use on a warranty and save it for a major repair...hopefully you'll never need it.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Contacted Exotic Company today, spoke to the he indicated to me their attorneys are dealing with this issue... However, when I asked about my account status, they indicated I dont figure in their system... The State of Florida indicates they are not licensed, they said they are... I dont know who to believe... Just in case I am still trying to get my money back.. If no success, I will go to the State Attorney's Office..

POST 16Original post

Apparently, "Fidelity" is a popular name for insurance companies. I purchased a warranty from Fidelity Warranty Services, located in Deerfield Beach, FL. I reside in California and just checked with the insurance commisioner's web site, and this particular company's license is active which, to me, means that there are no problems with them. Also, I checked their license status in Florida, and all is A-OK there, as well.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am glad to hear they are licensed... That's reassuring to the policy holders.. In my case, I will try to get out if I can... and try to collect my money... but I am glad to see they are in business...

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any recommendations from anyone about any other extended warranty company..?? I am still looking for another company... Thanks in advance..

POST 19Original post

nsang did you ever get a warranty card?? and did an inspector come to inspect your P?

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got the inspection done at the local P-dealership which they agreed to it.. I got some papework from them including an envelope for claims..

POST 21Original post

if they never gave you a warranty card or number you might still be able to get your money back since they didn't go bankrupt

POST 22Original post

i have only had experience with warrantydirect.com. they have paid and paid for previous cars of mine and have a good payment record with a friend of mine with a dodge intrepid. they have very attractive zero deductible, exclusion warranties (if not on the list, it's included, not like the list of things that are included and then you find out that whatever happened it's not on that list). and they pay by credit card. a key item.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks PorschePRH, will check them out...
