Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Finally I ran across an obscure reference to the cruise control in the manual.
Leading evidence: 'Run across an obscure reference' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone know what the green light on my speedo gauge is? It came on and has a arrow and what looks like a 1/4 gauge and it lights up green. It is on a 2002 C4S
Thanks for any help as i tried a search but couldn't find any info.
Also does anyone know where i could find a owners manual for the car without going to the local dealer or is any of that info online anywhere.
Thanks for any help.
Ben
I looked on Renntech.org but they didn't seem to have a 2002 C4S owner's manual on-line, in fact the only 996 manual they had was a turbo, or gt3 but I'm guessing you can get an idea of the instrument cluster as it's the same in both cars.
You have to join Renntech before you can download the manual.

How is it again? RTFM!!!
Kinda hard when you don't have one.
Sorry, coudn't resist a dig at your expense. It's not as bad as someone else I know. It took him 3 years of ownership before he found out that those bolsters on the door actually open up into a bin.
Yes, it's the cruise control indicator. It means it's on and ready to be set. There's a little button on the end of the stalk that gets pushed in/out to turn it on/off. Another thing. That darn cruise control stalk is NOT intuitive. I can never remember which way to push/pull for whatever I want it to do. And those stupid arrows don't help. Good thing I rarely use the thing.
Push away from you once to activate cruise.
Pull towards you to cancel cruise.
Push away from you & hold to accelerate.
Pull down (as if operating a blinker) to reduce speed & keep cruise on.
I think this is correct.....

Riad - Thanks for the heads up about the manuals at renntech.org, i went on there and downloaded the radio manual and the 2003 manual which should help on most things!
Thanks Again!
Ben
Funny, that same question about the green arrow light stumped me for a month or so. Searched the manual a couple times without finding it. The light seemed to come on some times and wouldn't at others. Initially I thought it was a sensor indicator that the front wipers had been set to detect the amount of mosture on the window (I don't recall where I got that idea!).
Finally I ran across an obscure reference to the cruise control in the manual. The button is on the end of the stick on the right side of the steering column and I suppose I bump it sometimes when moving around.
Now I'm trying to figure out the right sequence of events to have my wife change out the CDs caged in the front storage locker while crusing at speed.
Hey, it's a cab! It's possible!
