Suggestion
And remimber, a very low mileage 996 likely hasn't had proper oil changes so IMSB replacement would be adviasable.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yeah the price is definitely up there but honestly I'm brand new to the used porsche market and my thinking was that since it is so well-preserved and the milage so low that the cost might possibly be justified? The 996 market certainly hasn't taken off like the 993 but if things will eventually trend in the direction of the 993 this price could be reasonable. Again just pure conjecture and I'd love to know if I'm a dumbass for thinking this.
My '01 996 Turbo with 28k miles is listed in classifieds here for $51,900 for comparison. I'm the second long-term owner and it has been dealer-serviced since new. That's a heady ask for a C4S.
go to bringatrailer.com and search actual results. you can customize searches and see many, many c4s transactions, both low and higher mileage. the price they are asking will get you a lower mileage 996 turbo and still leave $ in your pocket. No c4s will get out of the $30s unless it was owned by someone famous or has some special history.
It's such a shame too because from what I've seen it's kind of difficult to find a facelift 996 C4S with aerokit in that kind of condition. There's not much on BaT as of right now but I'll browse rennlist as often as possible for something similar.
I followed the market over the last 6-7 years.
That's a tall ask, but it is the ask.
Internet ad, my guess it would sell for $37k-$39k.
But at a national known and broadcast auction like Mecum or similar, and two people wanted it, I could see it going for low to mid $40s easy.
When you are standing in front of a car like that, it is a different mind set, then shopping on the internet.
Just think about it, if you had the same car, but not the sport seats, deviated stitching or console, how much would you pay for mint condition parts to add. Answer, a lot.
This car should be sent to different format to bring what it is worth.
Just my $.02

It’s a gorgeous car with some rare options. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 996 C4S with the PCCB option. It shows that it has a factory aero kit, but I find it interesting that the C4S reflector strip is missing. The only other C4S that I’ve seen with a factory aero kit had the signature reflector strip in place.
I agree with the comments above. Great car, but over priced.
Good insight. I have a feeling that a dealer like this is doing to be really difficult to get to budge on price and impossible to bring down to actual market value. I'm sure a collector will scoop it up at some point and overpay simply because of what a nice example it is. I'd feel bad even making an offer on the thing.
This is probably the most badass 996 I've ever seen... no idea they even did C4S with factory aero!!
Crazy money, but at auction that would get 40s no problem with some emotional bidding. But in it's condition, you'd never drive it, so what's the point? Still amazing though!
Those are not PCCB brakes. In the autotrader ad, the dealership notes that the calipers where painted yellow by the owner. I would bet the owner also had the center reflector removed and painted turbo-like. Why do I think that? Because the owner of this car traded it in at this dealership for 2005 Turbo S. He was of turbo mind. lol
Nice car and a great buy under 40k.
Not sure what kind of market there is for this car but you cant buy much under 40k with these miles.
The unique options give this a unicorn affect so buckle up 996 haters.
Easily changed to stock.
If you dont like those little mods.
55k is steep but for 40k...., and if white I would buy it for that.
Never liked yellow on a Porsche exception is the 914.
Low to mid 40's I think for me. Seriously amazing car. Would not be surprised if it goes for 50k. Overpriced by 20K? wow, stop posting you don't know Sh*t !
Don't get me wrong. That car is my dream 996 coupe. One other question, on the C4S with the aerokit, are the lower skirts always painted body color? I know on my non aero, my lower moldings and front spoiler are black.
I don't have an aerokit. Mine are finished in bare plastic. I assume that is standard for non aero cars. My front spoiler is bare and the lower part of the side skirt is bare. The yellow one here has both painted body color.
If your thing is "time capsule" fresh then yeah I think this thing is worth high $4x,000. This is a hot hot HOT 4S. "
Looks like someone found an abandoned showroom
" fresh.
That said - I'm with the Turbo folks on this one as well. I'd rather have a 50k mile Turbo than a 13k mile 4S.
Beautiful and unique example.
I have never understood the logic in buying any ultra low mileage car -- you seemingly overpay for a car that has been under-driven.
Then if you drive it, you destroy the immense premium you paid for it.
If you don't drive it, then what's the point?
All this being said, it will probably sell for good money, I just don't know why.
Seems pretty unique, it looks really nice but I couldn't personally justify spending that over a turbo which there have seem to be some good deals on lately.
Mine is a C2 04' with factory aerokit, asking 30k and only getting lowball 25-27k offers....51k miles...4cs has nicer hips, but unless you plan on deriving in snow, awd is a weight penalty and a power penalty.

And remimber, a very low mileage 996 likely hasn't had proper oil changes so IMSB replacement would be adviasable. Hate to spend that kind of money and have the engine go south.
Oops, just reread and it has an IMSB kit. Not familiar with the barnd.
Looks like its been lowered an inch too. Very nice car but very few will pay anywhere near that price. I agree with earlier posters, $30K max. Its the sellers problem he didn't drive it enough.
Now its into GT3 territory. It would be a shame to pay all that money and still have an M96 engine. Like lots of other people said, high 30s sounds reasonable for such a nicely spec'd car.
