Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In the photo, the white plastic part between the red arrows. It seems to be missing from my car. What is it called and where can I get one?

POST 2Original post

Buy a junk shifter on eBay or from one of us that have them collecting dust?

POST 3Original post

I've owned a few shifters - 996, 997, 996 SSK and now Numeric. Actually don't ever recall seeing that white plastic part - unless its part of the 997SSK unit - which is the only one I haven't owned. I'm willing to bet that white part doesn't come on the standard 996 or 997 shifter - the pin usually just moves in the large white bracket. I'd go ahead with the installation without it as the images look like they use a 997SSK unit can tell by the blue - standard 997 that section is black. What sort of shifter are you installing this on?

An unknown aftermarket short shifter installed by a previous owner. I'm afraid there will be excessive play without that plastic part. I haven't disassembled the shifter to test fit it yet. @cds72911 thanks for the suggestion!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Definitely looks like an original and important OE part in this pic... Anybody got a spare one?
