Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

look on ebay. silver should be easy to find. shipping is the problem though. check your dealer to see if they have any take offs. Unlikely since last 996 is now 2 years old but they may know some customer trading in. Check with parts and service.
Just as a point of reference, but the MY02 cars were the last ones that had the attachment hardware pre-installed in the back of the car regardless if it came with a hardtop from the factory or not.
On 03 and later cars, you have to install the attachment points.
Pop one of the little round covers to see if you have the mounting plate in there.
An 01 should have the attachment mechanism. Just pull one of the dust caps and look down in there. If you don't see any sort of attachment point, then you will need to get the parts and install them. it is not that hard to do.
Check here on Ebay:

My one recommendation is to avoid purchasing any parts from LA Dismantler, or whatever the heck they are called. They are totally non-responsive to inquiries and many people have complained about them in this and other forums.
Here we go again.......
A first post seller. Mr. SANODB, for sale listings are only permitted to be posted my paying members.
As well, when you first come aboard, an introduction is not only courteous but one that helps if accompanied by pics of your p-car.
I need some clarification here please. Are you bitchin' 'cuz:
1) I played golf and you didn't, or
2) you had to pick up the slack on watching the Newbies, or
3) all of the above.
As far as the top is concerned i'm still looking for a car so I don't need one yet. Thought I was going to buy the Silver C4 but decided to keep looking.
