By far the best tip I've read was a recent one (sorry that I can't remember who posted it, but THANK YOU!) was using a piece of cloth wetted with rubbing alcohol wrapped around a credit card to smooth the paint - this trick was awesome, as it's impossible to get a good finish without doing this...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm trying to find OEM touchup paint for the p-car and i can't find any online sources. maybe i'm entering in the wrong search criteria. where can i find some OEM touch up paint to detail the car and get those unsightly rock chips out? thanks =D

POST 2Original post

Try, paintscratch.com (i tried their aerosol can - match was good) automotivetouchup.com (tried a pint and used a Preval sprayer from home depot - results sucked - likely my bad) I would assume touchup pens are avail at dealers. Don't forget the clear coat. RB

POST 3Original post

Try eagleday.com, I recently bought guards red touch-up paint for my 2000 C2 and the color match was very good. The touch-up paint carried by eagleday.com is genuine Porsche paint.

POST 4Original post

Dr Color Chip.com works good. The match was perfect.

POST 7Original post

I ordered some touchup pens from paintscratch.com a couple of days ago. I'll let you know how I like it when it arrives.

POST 8Original post

You could also try Auotvisuals. I got a paint pen that was an exact match for my Lapis Blue 996. http://www.autovisuals.com//

POST 9Original post

The paintpens from paintscratch.com arrived yesterday and I've spent the day (ALL DAY!) doing touchup. I like the pens, but I'm not sure that they bring great advantages over the brushes. They still apply too much paint (even though the pen nib is sharper and smaller than the ones that come from autovisuals). Thankfully, I ordered a bottle and a pen of paint, so was able to switch between the two. The paint was a great match and went on well - I will say that it dried a little too quickly, but that was okay. By far the best tip I've read was a recent one (sorry that I can't remember who posted it, but THANK YOU!) was using a piece of cloth wetted with rubbing alcohol wrapped around a credit card to smooth the paint - this trick was awesome, as it's impossible to get a good finish without doing this... the ability to shape and smooth the paint was a really nice trick that helped retain my sanity and give a good finish. Well, I mostly finished. I just have a few more layers to do around the area damaged by my license plate bracket, then I'll be able to install the bumperplugs - whoo-hoo!!
