Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I bought mine about two years ago held onto the kit for about a year and finally installed the kit myself.
Leading evidence: 'Install kit myself' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'different manufacturer' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install kit myself' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
They increased the price because they sold out all the old stock and new had to be made with probably a different manufacturer.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So, I finally was ready to pull the trigger and order the ROW M030 suspension upgrade kit for my 2002 C2 cab. I went to Suncoast to place my order and what had been $1599 a few weeks ago is now $3895. I guess Porsche was selling too many at a reasonable price so they jacked it up like most other Porsche prices. Bummer.
Ouch Porsche must not want to sell anymore. I bought mine about two years ago held onto the kit for about a year and finally installed the kit myself. I'm very content with the way the car rides/handles over the US spec M030 but at the new price point I would not even consider it.
Mine was about $1500 from Gert in April 2019 including FedEx's duty charge for a 2001 C4 Cab. Took a bit over two weeks and half of it was customs in Memphis screwing up.
Gert’s price went up also because of Porsche’s price increase. So I figured what the heck, I’ll get Ohlins and just be done. $2375 delivered from AutoTalent. Delivered a week after ordering, drop shipped from Ohlins USA. Can’t wait to get them on but it’s going to be a while.
That's the lowest price I have seen. I hunted around and was very happy to get mine for $2500. Most vendor prices for the POZ M100 kit were $2750 and up.
My 996 came with M030, but the struts are worn out.
These guys still have it listed at $1200 without VAT. Unsure about shipping, or if actually will honor the price.

EDIT: Now at $3300 like everyone else. Bummer.
As an update. That bubble did indeed burst. Now it's the same price as others ($3k+)
I just ended up ordering Koni Special Actives along with a bunch of new control arms and strut mounts from Paragon. Looking forward to refreshing this 105k mile suspension.
Porsche didn't increase the price because they were selling a lot of them. They increased the price because they sold out all the old stock and new had to be made with probably a different manufacturer.
Yes ^
@Imo000
is on the money. The 996 is part of the Porsche Classics program now, so parts are being remanufactured to fulfill the ongoing demand from us esteemed collectors
