Unless, you live in California, if you live in CA you would actually pass SMOG but as soon as your technician peeks under the car for the visual test, you would run into issues!

Looking at Fabspeed or similar cats for my 2001 C4. Anyone know of issues passing emissions in Colorado? El Paso county doesn't do emissions but the other counties would do treadmill testing for 996's. Thank You,

All depends...Some cars react well to the swap and some I've read will trigger a CEL. I thought emission testing was a "State" thing vs County? I wouldn't be concerned with other county's, just yours.

County where I live is the only one that doesn't require emissions. I'll be moving at some point into a county that will and/or also concerned about potentially selling it to another buyer.

Usually as long as they dont trip the check engine light u will pass. If u r i ca u need the carb sticker if not an oem part. Call the co dmv and ask them what their emission test consists of.

I can't speak for that brand, but 200 cell cats have passed VT state emissions inspections every year I've had them. I've had them on both 996.1 and 996.2.
